Dobbo had a conversation with us regarding representation in the last week, and we discussed the merits and pitfalls, however it is his desire to try and get into full time football, and at 27 he doesn’t really have time on his side, so we have agreed to work with him and his agent instead of against them, so that if something does come up and as long as it is also right for Slough Town we will not stand in his way.

It is ours and Steve’s view that we would not stand in the way of any player for full time football, and as a club want to keep the name we have made for ourselves amongst players in that we treat them well.

Dobbo is under contract, and at present we have had no interest from any clubs that could possibly deliver his dream.

As always if anything was to happen we would keep you in the loop.

Neil Thank you for that very clear explanation Presumably an interested club would have to buy out his contract and pay a fee?

Potentially, would all depend on what was on the table if something happens... in reality we would/will lose him in the summer for nothing.

So he’s realistically looking for a National League club and the likely scenario is they’d wait until the summer and get him for nowt. Now he has representation if he can’t fulfill his full time dream, surely he’ll go to a club who can pay him more which I’m sure they’re would be interested parties at this level. Selfishly it’ll be a shame and hard to replace but at his age I guess you have to grab any opportunity you can.

Not at our best by a long chalk but to still get the 3 points when below par was a real plus.

Floody with 2 goals and Dobbo's strike were the highlights of the game.

Warren Harris was my MOTM especially first half where I thought he was our best and most creative player.

Watched the video and a great strike from Dobbo but unusually for him not a glimmer of a goal celebration?

Wouldn’t worry too much about that RR, he had a very similar reaction last season when he scored, and it had been because we had been critical of him at half time, same again this time.

It happens in football, and he is big enough to get on with it and take it on the chin, and respond with an excellent strike.

We have a very good relationship with Dobbo hence him coming to us first before deciding whether to sign with an agency in the first place, however it does not stop cross words every now and then when we feel it is necessary, and that prompts the occasional reaction like Saturday.
