Prediction Lg: Wk 13 results, Wk 14 matches, Dec 22 at 08:50

Like many of you I had no strong feelings about FC Sion before this weekend.  But after their last minute capitulation to a frankly woeful Basel – and my consequent relegation –  I now hold them in the same contempt as Jacob Rees Mogg and his cronies. Altogether now, “WE HATE SION, WE HATE SION”.

Still it’s not all about me. Apparently.  Week 13 saw a lot of other positions settled.  Defeats for Mr D and Fat Tom mean they will both be joining me in the bad lands of Collier Row after Christmas – and down in that grim division I regret to announce that Lady Jago and Urchin Dynamo are both confirmed as out of the playoffs (barring a goal difference miracle for AFC Pulisball).   Mick The Bat secured the Div 2 title (despite being manager for only one week) – and the other automatic spot will go to Cool Hand Luke if he can grab one more point.  Mr Hat will have other ideas though.

But it’s the top of Div 1 which attracts all the press coverage.  And rightly so.  It’s these mega clubs that bring in the sponsorship deals that keep the likes of Blackballed and Cup of Tea going.   So good luck to both Wivenhoe and Paul C going into the final week showdown, and unlucky to UrchinYid who failed – but valiantly so – in his bid to retain the trophy.

The details are here, if you can bear to read them:

It was nice being in the top tier while it lasted.... valiant effort by the team in the past 2 campaigns (including a promotion).

I fear a Sunderland like fall could be in order.

Melbourne City 2v1 Melbourne Victory (08:50)
West Ham 2v1 Watford
Huddersfield 1v1 Southampton
Canvey 1v1 Bowers
Urchins 1v0 Brightlingsea

The good news - looking at our (and Mr D's) situation from a "glass half full" perspective - is there's nowhere to go after Collier Row!  Not unless we suddenly have 10 new joiners which feels a tad unlikely.

In other news I would like to apologise for my brain freeze when penning the original post.  Obviously Dinamo needs a "goals scored" miracle, not a "goals difference" miracle.  Still, a miracle is a miracle no matter your positional differentiator.   (I may copyright that statement).

Give the boys a cheer at Margate.

I'm 5 minutes late submitting so I've put stupid predictions in. But I'll probably do better than I do with my sensible predictions...

Dear Urchin Queen, as you match is meaningless (no sarky comments please), I shall accept your late sores (except the Melbourne match, obvs).  Blackballed is already safe in the playoffs and is a fair-minded chap so I'm sure he won't mind.

In other administrative news, Mick the Bat and Dinamo missed the deadline for Melbourne by some distance so will both score zero on that.

Dr Admin and The Administrators.
