Both Ben Harris and Guy Hollis are suspended for this match.

That's why I disagree with this rule because we've play games in the cup and Gillingham have not played enough game for any booking to count, so they'll have a full squad to choose from. AND so on to the big boys will have yet another advantage. That's looking after the non-league clubs FA.

Guy’s cup suspension has nothing to do with the new rules, and Ben Harris is suspended because he has picked up two yellows in the last two rounds.... all yellow cards were wiped after the Third Qualifying round (advised on here by Neil Baker). So I don’t see that as a major disadvantage to non league clubs.

Put it this way Gillingham would never have a player suspended because of yellow cards as it will only be the 2nd game played. So yes an advantage.

Not really, any Gillingham player could've picked up 2 yellows in their 2 game against Hartlepool, just like Ben did against Sutton. The same could've applied to any Slough player too but it's only Ben who managed it - if I remember rightly his one in the replay was for shoving one of the opposition players, so highly avoidable.

ARAAS if a Gill player had picked up two yellows in a game that makes a red, so couldn’t possibly be a yellow card accumulation suspension.

that red card suspension would have been played out in their next league game.

They have had two games, we have in effect had 3 (as bookings wiped after third qualifying round) so no great disadvantage, however huge disadvantage if we were to make it through as we have a few on a booking which could result in suspension, where the big boys come in with a clean slate, however no different to Bristol Manor Farm having 4 suspended against us.

They are trying to replicate the rules of World Cup, but in my opinion does not work because of the different times teams come in.

Jafooly, I have to agree with ARAAS, booking in 1st match and another in the replay would have been a suspension for this game, same as Ben. Bens booking in the replay, I think, was for perceived theatrics just as the ref was about to blow up for the end of extra time so more than a little annoying.

I think ARAAS is saying Gillingham played Hartlepool twice, so any of their players could have picked up a single yellow in each of those matches and been suspended for the match against us.

That's not the point I'm making.

Say we get 5 bookings Sunday and get a draw and the same 5 get booked in the replay, they'll be suspended for say a Man U game......BUT as it will be Man U's first game in the cup they'll have a full squad to choose from as we'll be 5 short.

It's the FA looking after the grass roots of football.

To the surprise of most of us, yellow cards were wiped after the 3rd qualifying round..... presumably there was some notification that went to all the clubs because Neil Baker seemed to be the only one that knew and there didn’t appear to be anything on the FA site.

Is there a possibility they will do similar and wipe all yellow cards again after the Second Round??
