FA Cup 1st. Round Proper

It does state away fans are welcome in their bar but for segregated matches I guess that wouldn’t apply. If they’re clever and forward thinking they’ll have some sort of bar in our end otherwise they’ll be losing out big time. Apparently the away end toilets are disgraceful (unless they’ve upgraded them since the report I read was written).

Perhaps they'll put up a little temporary bar? having said that what about FA Cup rules about selling/consuming alcohol.

You can't sell or consume alcohol in view of the game. Otherwise a temporary bar would be a fine idea.

Can't remember where or when but have been to several grounds which had segregation, but not in the clubhouse before or after the game.  Times may have changed.

Information from Sutton about the arrangements (TL;DR no bar, no access to the social club):-

Crowd segregation will be in force for Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup 1st Round tie at home to Slough Town.  This means that U’s supporters must use either the Gander Green Lane turnstiles or the car-park gate.  Visiting supporters must use the turnstiles at the Collingwood Road end of the stadium.  Regrettably, segregation and the large crowd anticipated mean that visiting supporters will not have access to the social club on Saturday.

As usual, car-parking will be restricted to SUFC permit-holders.  Slough supporters travelling by car are advised to use the Gibson Road municipal car-park, which is about five minutes’ walk.

Please remember that it is illegal to bring smoke-bombs and other pyrotechnic devices into a football stadium and that our ground rules also prohibit drums.

They’ve suggested that popular pubs in Sutton are the O’Neills and Old Bank, both on the High St, with the Robin Hood (Young’s) about halfway on the 20 minute walk between Sutton station and the away end entrance in Collingwood Road.

Robin Hood for me I think, with maybe a look into the Shinner & Sudtone (Antic Pub Co) as well...

Congratulations to Neil & Jon..... just seen that this will be their 300th competitive match in charge (even more than Sean Fraser's 289 appearances!)

I was surprised they had reached this total so quickly.... the 299 so far have comprised 239 league matches, 5 play-off matches, 19 FA Cup, 15 FA Trophy, 11 League Cup, and 10 Bucks & Berks.

151 wins, 51 draws & 97 losses, an impressive win rate of greater than 50%.

I would say the Cock & Bull is probably the best pub in Sutton, its a Fullers pub and has 5 real ales on tap inc ESB & Red Fox and is a 2 minute walk from the main station. Shinner & Sudtone is another good pub for real ales which is just down the road on the left. Weatherspoons is just round the corner but it can take an age to be served if your not a regular. On the corner of West Street is the Robin Hood which is a youngs pub and is probably the closest pub to the ground. if any of you get out at West Sutton Station the once famous Plough Inn has now closed down and there are no pubs in that area now. Stats are nearly correct but not quite.

Grab a program next weekend for a full run down of the 300 matches in numbers

I stand to be corrected but I make it 150 wins, 55 draws and 94 defeats across all competitive games.
