FA Cup 1st. Round Proper

Shredding Green

Sutton should bring a lot more than Mansfield did. That match at Holloways Park wasn't segregated and I don't recall them having more than a couple of hundred there. Arbour Park is also an awful lot easier to get to by public transport. Something approaching 2,000 is possible I think.

So who do you want in the next round provided we can dispose of Sutton? A few weeks ago Sutton went to Hartlepool and beat them 2-3 and we were certainly the better side in the drawn game On the other hand as Glen pointed out when the TV bosses are looking for a plum tie then Slough v League 1 Gillingham must be well in the frame

The obvious choice would be Gillingham to get a shot at the TV game.

Home to Hartlepool certainly wouldn’t be considered as a TV game. Even if the stars align and we get Gillingham at home I’d say there are 4 or 5 other ties who’d be contenders and I think they select 4 matches for live tv coverage? We’d have a chance but by no means a cert. I think if Sutton United progressed and they got home to Gillingham that would have a much higher chance due to it nearly being classed as a ‘derby’ match.

I think our tie in the 2nd round overall has the best prospect of seeing a non-league side progressing to the 3rd round, with Gillingham needing to get through two away matches to progress.

Because of this I hope if we get past Sutton we then get Hartlepool and a reasonable chance to make the 3rd round for the first time ever.

I would say young and raw.

Outside of pace he has very little to offer.

he played against us a while ago and a premier league scout came to watch him. He had a note pad with him, on one side he wrote Jonah Ayunga and on the other Slough Town. By the end of the match he had not written a single thing under Ayunga but had filled out the page for Slough.

Well we won’t be on TV then if we win the replay! Shame they’ve been announced already as I thought they may wait until the replays were decided.

I can understand the Welsh ‘derby’ being selected and Guiseley v Fleetwood as that’s the biggest divisional gap. But the other 2 are odd picks especially Morecambe/Halifax v AFC Wimbledon, more so if the non league side don’t progress.

Every game guarantees that a league team will be on TV playing away.

If they chose Sutton/Slough v Hartlepool/Gillingham there is the possibility of Sutton or Slough playing at home to Hartlepool.
