Eastbourne v Slough (FA Cup 4th Qualifying round)

Never seen a 34/13 odds! I’m confident we can go there and bring back another win but obviously that last result won’t have much bearing on tomorrow’s game. They’ll certainly be well up for revenge and won’t want the embarrassment of losing twice to us. Should be a cracking cup game hopefully we can take 150 to them and having never been but can see there’s plenty of covered terracing which can only add to the atmosphere.

Cannot make tomorrow but for some reason really nervous about the game......Would mean so much to be in the first round again.....when was the last time we made the first round 2 years running? must be mid 90's as has never happened in my time supporting the Rebels

The pens game yes - can't comment on the goalie as we don't tend to stand behind the goal....it was a heck of shoot out though

I cannot remember the replay for me it was the 1st game when we were 2 - 1 down with a few minutes left and every one around me on the halfway line not happy that Andy Deaner was still on the field then he hits a screamer in our eyeline from 30+ yards out for the equaliser what a goal.

I'm not sure why there isn't more confidence about this game  Eastbourne are 15th mostly because of their poor home record all season  They've only managed 2 home league wins  Do we really want a replay against a team unbeaten away?? I think we'll need to get some penalty practice in if that happens As RR says anything can happen in cup games There are always a few surprises but like Glen I'm confident of our progress and those bookie odds quoted are very close really No real favourites.

Adrian, I'd hardly call it a poor home record with 3 wins against Welling, Chippenham and Dulwich and a draw against Truro.

I think it's more 'apprehension' than lack of confidence mainly due to the importance of the game and the fact that Eastbourne have strengthened their squad with some quality.

RR  You've missed a few things. The victory against Welling was their first league game of the season back in early August  The draw with Truro and win against Chippenham were played by the 18 th August Since then they've been dire at home  and are lucky to be facing us tomorrow after conceding 3 in 6 minutes against Dulwich  We certainly shouldn't think ourselves underdogs imo

Yes great win totally expected by me  Hard to understand why the Eastbourne manager seemed to believe that the way to deal with a terrible defence was to recruit a forward  As Neil said Rutherford is a good player who has scored in every game since he joined but they've not won a single point and they are out of the cup Think again! When we were asked pre season what wish we had for the coming season mine was to rid ourselves of being the only club in FA Cup history to progress to the round at which we met Rochdale and never to the round beyond. Let's hope we get  a home tie and an opponent that makes that possible
