My concern re Welling is that they are rested 7 days and we only 4 but they are another Chelmsford so far in the league

They've had some excellent high scoring away games but at home they've played league leaders Billericay and lost by 3 goals  the other 4 teams they've played are currently 14th 16th 18th and 20th  They also struggled to beat Chesham 2-1 in the FA Cup We should walk out on Saturday expecting a hard game  but expecting to give a good account of ourselves IMO.

Adrian, not sure how you've compared Welling to Chelmsford?

This seems to happen so many times just before we’re due to play a club.... Welling have tonight signed Oxford City striker Matt Paterson.

Jeez, another club punching above their weight, spending too much money accumulating a debt that will take 2/3 years to pay off and now they have to sell their top striker.

RR They both get their most impressive results away Chelmsford have scored 6 and 5 in winning away  The form table currently has Welling 11th in the home table We are 2nd in the away table

If anyone is after a refreshing cold beverage before the game, the excellent www.footballgroundguide.com has the following information:-

As mentioned there is a Social Club at the ground that welcomes away fans. The entrance is located just outside the ground by the turnstiles. Otherwise almost next door to the stadium is a pub called the ‘Guy Earl of Warwick’. Further along the High Street there are a number of others pubs including the Rose & Crown, the Nag's Head and a Wetherspoon pub called the New Cross Turnpike. There is also an interesting micro pub on the High Street called the Door Hinge, which is well recommended and is featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. It sells only real ale and cider, but seats just 22 people. If you take a left out of the ground onto the main road, then passing the Guy Earl Of Warwick pub on your left then you'll reach in this order on the right; the Rose and Crown, the Door Hinge, the Nag's Head and then the Wetherspoons pub is further down on the left (past Tescos and KFC).

Door Hinge/Social Club for me I think...

It'll be an interesting visit As far as I know the only segregated groundshare For 19 yrs now Welling have shared their ground with Erith & Belvedere but both clubs have a dedicated part of the ground (Welling of course much bigger) They have their own entrances own turnstiles and own food and drinks outlets!

How strange.

Does that mean Welling only have one end of the ground?

Strange thing is before they played at Park View Rd E&B used to play at Park View Rd!!  E&Bs original stadium destroyed by fire had the same name as Wellings ( formerly Bexley) Most of the improvements in recent years have been funded through the sale of the original stadium land.

unlucky lads played a great second half, some strange decisions by the ref, but there you go some times we profit by them some times we don't.oh well onwards and upwards into a tough run of games now, FA cup next week against an eastbourne side that will surely be looking  for revenge for the league defeat earlier in the season so coyr lets give it some.:yay:
