v Bristol Manor Farm (FA Cup 3rd Qualifying round)

I watched the same highlights..... looks like they have a couple of big centre backs that win everything in the air, and going forward they have a few players who can strike a good shot from outside the box.

Their home pitch looks like it is already cutting up, so not a place you would want to go to for a midweek replay.

You have to take into account that Basingstoke are pretty poor away from home. Like us they like to play the ball on the ground and have a real problem on bad pitches.

BMF haven’t won their previous matches by big margins, needing a replay and extra time against Bideford, and beating Chipping Sodbury 2-0 (a level below them) who had not won a league game before this match.

Agree about B'stoke liking a good surface to play football on and BMF's pitch looks a real pudding.

I'm not sure a winning margin whether big or small is always a true indication of how a game has gone or how a team has performed.

I don't think this will require a replay but there is one thing the lads will have to watch out for from the KO BMF have a reputation in their league for  shall we say "robust" play and currently have the highest number of disciplinary points in their league

Hi all Manor Farm fan here.

Really looking forward to tomorrow, biggest game in the clubs history and looks like we’ll be bring a few fans to you.

Hoping we can get ng out of tomorrow but if not it’s been a good ride, we are missing a few players through injury and suspension but the guys who start will give 100% so should be a decent game.

Good luck for the rest of the season after tomorrow (or a replay if there is one!)

Hey Matt, I wouldn’t expect more than 50 of you is that what you’re thinking? I think especially after the Sholing matches no one is expecting an easy game and we’ll have to be on it to get through.

Matt, what are the origins of the ‘Manor Farm’ part of your clubs’ name as I had a quick scan and couldn’t see anything relating to it?

Hi MattBMF Always nice to hear from opposition supporters and nicer when you turn up in numbers You'll get a genuine welcome from us  and of course we can't wish you success in this game but we hope its an exciting watchable game You've already done better than your previous 33 campaigns so have much to feel proud about.

We are expecting around 50, it's a massive game for the club and we average around 100-140 at home so hopefully a good few make the journey.

With regards to the name, I actually don't know. I'll ask someone who's been supporting the club for longer than I have tomorrow...

There is much to feel proud about for us, this is unchartered territory so we are going to make the most of it no matter what the result.

I found this for you Glen from searching on Bristol Area Origins

Two farms faced each other at the northern end of the common. Demolished
in 1905, Court Farmhouse, on the east side, was the oldest building in
Horfield with some fine oak-panelled rooms. It is remembered in the name
Court Road. Manor Farm faced it from the western side.

So it looks like it comes from one of the farms that were in the area early on
