Can only be optimistic about this game Rebels full of confidence with league and FA Cup successes aplenty Hungerford have three straight losses in league  and still trying to qualify in cup  They've currently conceded 24 league goals and  their only away win was against 21st team Truro  But its a funny old game the foregoing points to the likely result but let's see

Why would their mind set need changing ?

you seem to have it in your head that this team always struggles against lower ranked sides in our leagues.....

Bottom 6 last season were Dunstable, Gosport, StIves, Kings Langley Farnborough and Dorchester, we took a possible 34 points from 36.

Yes we have dropped points to Dulwich and ET this season, but I bet Dulwich finish nowhere near bottom 6, and ET was a poor day, however is a much tougher league this year, and everyone can beat everyone.

Why let the facts get in the way of a good story ☺️

Neil I hope you and Jon have worked out how those two points got away!

Our opponents in the FA Cup on 6th Oct Bristol Manor Farm went down 2-1 to Thatcham this afternoon

Their captain Jack Durrant received a straight red after 5 mins  When does his suspension kick in?

A fair performance with a good result. I think Jon summed it up well in his tweet, we will play better, but the win was what was important.

Hungerford only really looked dangerous on the break from corners, other than that gave us pretty much no threat as all.

Didn't think much of the ref, certainly could have had a pen for us in each half on Matty Stevens, didn't effect the result in the end so no harm done.

Another 3 points, up to 5th in the table and 20 points out of 11 games. Can't be bad at all in a new, very tough league.

I thought Hungerford had a fair few shooting opportunities but virtually every one either went wide or over the bar. Even towards the end one of their forwards broke free into our box and even then failed to get a shot off. Unless Hungerford get a player/s who can find the net they will struggle to avoid relegation for the rest of the season.

Considering our midweek game at Sholing this was a good 3 points.

Top five after 11 games!!

I think all of us would have taken that at the beginning of the season...... a lot of very difficult league matches ahead, but let’s enjoy the moment and for now look forward to a home match Saturday in the next round of the FA Cup.

A big crowd Saturday and vocal support could go a long way toward a successful run in the FA Cup, so please make the effort to get down to Arbour Park and try to talk your friends and family in to coming too.

St Albans also have 4 wins from 4 but our win with 10 men at Eastbourne may swing it in our favour.

RR You may well be correct I hope not When I wrote I hadn't taken a good look at the detail on the St Albans game

Chelmsford two up in 12 mins both OGs by same player then St Albans replied with four in 20 mins from same player. Mind you our 2-4 away win was with 10 men most of game that might edge it as you point out

Correct. We are doing fantastically well at the moment and probably better than any one could have imagined.

As you say we have some huge challenges coming up with 7 of the top 10 clubs still to play so lets savour the moment being in the top 5 and look forward to a big FA cup game this weekend with the prospect of playing a National League team (Maidenhead at home anyone?) if we reach the next round.

The fact we’re just 3 points off top demonstrates there aren’t any stand out teams. Yes 6 of the next 7 league games on paper are tough but I can’t see why we can’t amass a decent points total if we play to our potential. If we’re still in the play-offs after this clutch of matches I’ll be very happy.
