v Eastbourne Borough

Reading Rebel

Recommended Posts

This promises to be a really good game against a side who have started the season very well sitting in 4th position.

We go into the game full of confidence after two league wins on the bounce and a good performance on Tuesday night.

My starting 11 would be:

                  Turner

  Fraser  Hollis  S Togwell  Wells

Harris  L Togwell  Davies  Dobson

          Flood  Stevens

Great win given the long period with 10 men Although 10 men often play like 11 especially when they think the ref got it wrong. I said recently that nothing grows and builds like confidence and its a two way street Confidence drains away from teams about to play us when they see what we are achieving From KO on 4/8 we had one of the best defences in the league (2nd best at present) and the lads have moved to deal with the misfiring attack in a very effective way I don't believe our aim any longer is to survive our first season in this league I think we are looking at least at a top third finish

What a fanastic win especially as Slough were down to ten men so early. Makes geat reading seeing us sitting 5th in the table now.

Well done all involved.

......and who would have thought Dulwich being away, would turn Woking over !

Happy days are here again. :D

Thanks to a late goal at Oxford v Bath we are 7th 3spirit.

Wasn't able to make today unfortunately, but watching on Twitter from Beaconsfield was amazing to see in the first half and a very nervous time in the second.

Fantastic result all in all and sets us up nicely for the FA Cup and then a home game against Hungerford who hold the unwanted label of the worst defensive team in the league.

SloughFlyer, thanks for the update. I saw the table on the BBC I Player and took it for gospel. Still 7th bloody good thus far.

How did Beaconsfield do against Dorchester today?

Think that result owes a huge debt to the managers foresight in getting the AFC game on tuesday.

Once we went down to 10 we just shaped up exactly like Tuesday night and kept a rigid shape and dared them to come at us. Took them ages to work out how to use the extra man and first half they left Dobbo acres of space which he took full advantage of.

Matty deserved his goals. He put their defence under pressure every time and they looked terrified even with 3 or 4 trying to stop him.

Great day all round and shows that at this level preparation and organisation are everything.
