Windsor Rebel
Very unlucky tonight not to come away with at least a point. We hit the woodwork in the first half and controlled large periods of the game but without creating too many chances and testing their keeper. Their goal came from a soft corner and as the ball was returned into the area an easy tap in for their player. After that, we pushed and Chippenham were all hands to the pumps defending. All in all, disappointing result but many positives. Good Slough support as well. Well done all.
Bernie Gogan
150+ Slough support in a 600 crowd was pretty decent and they obviously weren't expecting such a turnout (no programmes 20 mins. before kick off for instance). Thought their ground didn't have much scope for progression beyond present level and only 2 turnstiles, thought min was 4 at Step 2? Anyway, very disappointing not to get at least a point on a dreadful pitch. The game was necessarily low in quality due to the conditions, but we were the better side for most of the game and very unlucky not to score. Their big centre backs had a good game and along with the keeper, headed/blocked/saved everything we threw at them. We'll have games where we do similarly and win so swings and roundabouts I suppose. sdelaney
This game reminded me when we played Chippenham at home 2 season ago. In the first half of that game they defended stubbornly we had good chances to score chances kicked of the line and hitting the post. 2nd half Sandell scored early they defended well for the rest of the game to win 1 - 0. Last night we had a couple of good opportunities late in the 1st half. In the 2nd half they bring on Sandell soon after they get the corner he makes a newsense of himself with the others in the box and a goal comes from it. Once again they defend stubbornly for the rest of the 2nd half keeping at bay all of Slough.s efforts on goal including a power driver of a free kick that had there defender doubled up in pain from the resulting clearance could of scored a 2nd. Once again winning 1 - 0. Injustice result for the teams hard work and endeaver. We can say the pitch was hard as rock and bobberly but it was the same for both sides problem is there will be a lot more pitches like this to come until we get a lot of rain to change it. In both games so far we do not look out of place in this league could of had 6 points on the board certainly 4 points.

Neil Baker
We also got 1 point from our first two games our first year we got promoted, so wouldn’t worry too much about that, if we were in the same position in a few weeks time, then we will probably have to review (however that won’t be the case) for me in both games we have been the better side, without getting the rewards (which does happen). In reality it looks like every game will be like playing a top 5 team last year, competitive tight affairs, which could go either way. Main positives were we looked very solid as a side, and work rate was superb on an awful pitch (I think Steve said we might have to get used to it due to weather, however at this level most clubs have proper irrigation systems, and pitches are excellent even now, with only Chippenham and Hungerford being the exceptions), what was quite frustrating was seeing the water they got on the pitch immediately after the game, however luckily we don’t have to play on it every other week, and as fans you won’t have to put up with that type of football every other week, their players are frustrated by it also, as I believe they are a team that also wants to play, but just won’t be able to if the pitch stays like that. We move onto Gloucester Saturday in the hope we can pick up the three points. I have to say thanks to the travelling support also last night, was brilliant numbers, and a real boost seeing everyone in their shirts.... Stan
Neil's point is a good one about the quality of team we will face.lets remember we are a step up now and there will be no easy games we have to be on it every game for 90 mins . Shows how tight the margins are , one slight deflection we get the first goal go on to 3 points , no soft corner or Jack holds the ball they don't score we get a point . Early days yet , good news is have not seen anything to be frightened of so far.
GlenSTFC
True at this higher level there will be many games which are decided by fine margins. Also goal scoring chances will be on the whole less so being clinical will be the order of the day. Although I didn’t attend Chippenham from watching the Hampton match and listening to Tuesday’s report/Twitter/post match interview I’m confident we can pick up at least 4 points from the next two games which would place us nicely. redwine rebel
Nooo we are just not good enough drew first game and lost the second totally unacceptable..........of course I am joking !!! Think we were so unlucky to not come away with at least a point, think we dominated the first half and can't remember them having too many shots at goal either. So even though we lost came away fairly happy and confident xx
Mr Rebel
Absolutely could not fault the effort of the team last night. So frustrating to come away with nothing in a game in which we had the ball in and around their box a great deal without really creating too much. Both games now we've hit the post with great chances, which had they gone in would have put us ahead. Had 1 or both gone in who knows we could be sat here with 2 wins but I'm certainly not going to worry too much about what ifs. The higher level was always going to bring new challenges to get accustomed to but I have no doubts we can compete and already have competed well in the games we've played. Much like when we were new to Southern Premier we will learn and adapt if need be as we go. Vast majority of fans opinions leaving the ground seemed to be frustrated but reasonably upbeat that our first win can't be far away. Fingers crossed its Saturday where hopefully we can again travel in great away numbers.
GlenSTFC
Talking numbers (sorry Susie...) were there really 150 Slough at Chippenham? If so that is impressive for a midweek game. Hopefully we can take similar to Gloucester.

Neil Baker
Not available due to holiday, but we did not want to make Chippenham aware of that hence why he was named in the squad of 17.

Hopefully we can take similar to Gloucester.Glen Gloucester are currently playing 25 miles or so to the north at Evesham and as a consequence their attendance's are poor Including Oxfords support there was only 300 on Tuesday so it could seem like a home game on Saturday
GlenSTFC
I know they groundshare although I doubt Oxford City would have taken many midweek as they’re poorly supported. I would hope we’d take 100 on Saturday and really get behind the lads to get that first win under our belts.
