Mark44
We all have different opinions and its clear we have a very good squad so a bit of fun....what would your starting 11 look like on Saturday.... Mine would be Turner Jackman S.Togwell Nisbet Wells W.Harris L.Togwell Davies Dobson B.Harris Flood Went for Wazza over Soares as I haven't seen enough of Soares myself (only been to Reading game) and I know wazza will put a shift in Fraser or Jackman also swapped a few times in my mind Hollis and Dunn very unlucky to not make my starting 11 It's only too hard due to the quality we have in depth

GlenSTFC
I thought Sam was primarily a midfielder and not a central defender (although I know he’s played that position). Also didn’t some fans not rate his pre-season performances in that position (obviously pre-season means FA).

3spirit
Turner Jackman S.Togwell Nisbet Wells Soares L.Togwell Davies Dobson Coles Flood Subs: Fraser, Hollis, W.Harris, Dunn,Williams. Taking the opposition into account and with us being at home and with potentially a harder game away on Tuesday, I would rest Smart and Ben Harris for possible inclusion on Tuesday. GlenSTFC
You can’t go into your first game in a new higher league and not put your strongest team out, we’re not a multi winning Champions league team!!!
Jafooly
Whatever the starting line up we need to play aggressively in the opening match. Most opening games are won by the team brave enough to attack, with most teams often trying not to lose. We have nothing to lose with all the pressure on H&R. Go at them from the off and put them on the back foot.

Of course you can. As Bakes says it's a squad game nowadays. Besides who says my 16 is weak.
GlenSTFC
By saying you’d rest 2 players indicates they’re not required for this inferior match v Hampton.
3spirit
Turner Jackman Nisbet Hollis Wells Dobson S. Togwell Davies Soares Flood B. Harris Subs: Williams Coles L. Togwell W. Harris Fraser Glem, have you been to many Slough friendlies this season? Sam Togwell has been outstanding at centre half and Lee Togwell has been a revelation in centre mid, so both should start Saturday in those positions. To me Guy Hollis is our best centre half but we've got loads of games where he is going to feature.Likewise with Sean Fraser and Warren Harris. Well to me, Sean Fraser is our number one right back. Josh Jackman is still learning his trade but is getting better with every game and needs to play more often. Nathan Smart is a good utility squad player but is my third choice right back. Ben Harris isn't my favourite player but he is no mug and I can see why our managers like him. I would start with him alongside Chris Flood against Chippenham.
3spirit
One thing I would add, Glen, my nominated team is rarely the team the managers go with. Think they run scared of this rival, ha ha ha !
Reading Rebel
Turner Fraser Hollis S Togwell Wells Soares L Togwell Dunn Dobson Flood Coles Subs Williams W Harris Davies B Harris Nisbet The only way to keep all the players happy is to rotate so whoever are the five subs on Saturday would start the game at Chippenham on Tuesday. If players have a storming game, I wouldn't rotate them, The difference is,when a player drops below par, he knows he will be replaced in the team. Of course, theres always room to bring a number of players in to freshen up the starting eleven.
GlenSTFC
I understand why the squad gets rotated but as a player you would be a little peeved if you’ve played a blinder and ‘dropped’ for the next game!
Stan
Remember last seasons aggressive rotation. Anyone who scored a hat trick was dropped next game. Rotation is about resting your best players not leaving out the worst . We could have just about any formation for the opening game so I will only predict those I am certain will start ... Turner ... ...... ... Err! that's it....
