Curtis
You know Non League football has gone completely mad when a club one division above us, Salford City (average attendances of 1,610 last season), sign Adam Rooney, a 30 year old regular striker last season for Aberdeen, on a £4,000 per week contract. GlenSTFC
Can’t be a surprise when you have 5 multi millionaires and 1 billionaire bank rolling you?
Reading Rebel
A bit like Woking trying to buy their way out of the division.
Curtis
I thought all Conference clubs had to submit reviewed and approved budgets for the season, and were not allowed to fund losses with large long term loans..... a type of Financial Fair Play for non league clubs. Is this still the case? And if so, are they complying with it, or do they have an exemption because they have famous shareholders/owners?
Curtis
I had missed the other signings Salford City have also made:- Danny Lloyd - Peterborough (League 1) Nathan Pond - Fleetwood (League 1) Chris Neal - Fleetwood (League 1) Rory Gaffney - Bristol Rovers (League 1) Danny Whitehead - Macclesfield (League 2) These aren’t all out of contract signings, they have paid ‘undisclosed’ transfer fees for at least Danny Lloyd & Rory Gaffney.
