Another name that is missing is Alan Inns. Is he still with us?    and if he is, how is he progressing after his operation?

Good spot, didn't see that his name was missing.

Not been told any different so just assumed that he was still with us or maybe not?

Clayton is another youngster 21 just a few days ago and a regular scorer for Brentford B Can understand why the lads want to take a look

Both promising youngsters who probably need to start playing men's football in order to get their careers back on track in order to progress.

Innsy has only recently started running again and isn’t ready to take part in full training. We are in regular contact with him and he’ll be down to see the lads soon but for now his preference is to work alone on his fitness at his own pace. He is unlikely to be match fit come the start of August so if all goes well with his training then once he’s ready the most likely scenario is he will go out on dual registration to get some games elsewhere and see how that goes.

Cheers for the reply, Jon.

I wanted for awhile, to see him play for Slough, as thought he would be an asset for us but unfortunately for him, his stint at our club hasn't been particularly rewarding for him. I hope he can get fit and come storming back for us, as the Slough fans haven't seen the best of him yet. Be a shame if he doesn't make it back.

Just read the Met Police managers pre match comments and he intends to play two separate teams in this game.

I'm looking forward to seeing Met Police and what players they have got, as much as watching Slough. Must be a sad old git ! ha ha !

Surprised no one has commented on the game itself, not that it was a rip roaring event, although as far as first friendly games go; it was one of the better ones.

I thought both of our trialists had reasonable games and are worth having another look at.

My disappointment of our trialist striker is that he is another midget.

Of our two new signings, Louis Soares caught the eye and had a better outing than Sam Togwell on the night.

However, his brother Lee was probably our best player in the match itself.

On to the next one.....

He might have been small but he looked very quick and scored a very good goal.

I thought both new signings looked very promising.

To be fair our midget forwards were only part of a team that scored 152 goals last season so obviously doesn't work with the style of football we play ;-)

We might of scored 182 goals with a bigger striker, who knows ! ?

My comment was about the trialist striker's size, was more an observation about recruiting more of the same.

As Reading Rebel said, he took his goal well against Met Police and as I said he's worth another look but he's not the type of striker I would be on the look out for, imo.

Few people this time last year said we needed a big striker if we were to challenge for promotion.

Then those same people moaned when we let big Brad Wadkins go and said it would be an issue for us.

Then we got promoted ?
