Reading Rebel
Fleet Town's appeal against being re-located to the South West league has been turned down by the morons at the FA. As a result their joint managers and support team have resigned and they have no players signed on. They are holding a meeting this Thursday to decide which way to go. The two options seem to be to either drop down two leagues or to fold. Such a great little club I really hope they can carry on in some form. GlenSTFC
A bit presumptuous with your headline RR! I know the extra traveling would be in the thousands but their financial situation must have been in a very critical state to be left in this position? Numerous clubs over the years have been forced to swap leagues and take on the extra unexpected costs but do survive. Apart from Cinderford who declared financial problems, I can’t think of another that had to announce possible closure?
Reading Rebel
Obviously their financial situation comes into it but with the FA leaving the decision on their appeal so late, manager and staff resigning and no players signed on must have been the last straw. Hopefully they will take the decision to drop down a couple of leagues and re-group.
Irishadrian
A couple of hours ago they announced that they would be sharing their ground next season with Bagshot FC so I think they are intending to continue at some level
Irishadrian
The FA decision was probably influenced by their history of seasons spent in the S&W where they were playing as recently as 2013/
Reading Rebel
Seems Fleet are going to carry on in the South West Div with Youth players to avoid a heavy fine.
Curtis
So it was sensationalist fake news about them folding then?
Reading Rebel
I'm sure it wasn't fake at the time and a serious option for them.
Matt
I'm sure it wasn't fake at the time and a serious option for them. Not a statement of fact though, as the title of this thread would suggest.

Irishadrian
I see they've opened a gofundme page to raise cash to pay for away transport! The biggest loss they've sustained Imo is the loss of their main sponsor I hope another/some others can be found.
