Absolutely gutted by this sad news.

John was such a nice man and a true gentleman. I shall miss our little chats about his beloved Slough Town and Old Paludians football club.

He will be sorely missed.

My sincerest condolences to his family at this sad time.

RIP John.

Also shocked to hear this news I'm just back from holiday and started to catch up only to be greeted by this news A true supporter through thick and thin who will be fondly remembered for years to come!

A long time true friemd to my family.  When my father died back in 1986, John and his wife, Christine, went way above the call of duty to make sure my Mother was still included in everything, and that she was alright.  He was one of the main reasons I started watching Slough on a regular basis, at the end of that same year.

A sad reminder that not all those who make the journey reach the end. At least John saw us return home and get back to the level we deserve. Shame that for all his commitment he did not get the reward of longer to enjoy it .

The list of STFC legends grows longer.

RIP John, fellow Rebel and Old Paludian. Didn't know him that well when we were both watching regularly back in the day but developed a friendship after the Rebels played Horsham in the mid noughties. His memories of SGS and the Rebels went back even further than mine. Epitomised the loyal supporter. He will be much missed.

I sat next to John Tebbitt at Dave Carpenter's funeral on 27th. March. He appeared to be in incredibly good health for 87 and sang very well. Only a few weeks later I heard that he had received bad news at the hospital. Just two months and twelve days after Dave's funeral, John was no longer with us either.

Actually Stan we all do reach the end of our particular journey sooner or later It's Slough Town Football Club that is on a never ending journey!
