Good Luck against Westley's Scummers!

I think it's more Graham Westley

look at this quote from Stevanage Boro Forum

obviouslly alot of this is pure speculation !

..................................................................

The first signs that Westley was unhinged were naming Cherrywood Road the "AIMITA" stadium (after his company motto "attitude is more important than ability") and his 'Farnborough playing premiership football in 10 years' boast - both of which alienated neutrals. To be fair, as a manager, he did OK at Farnborough and managed to create a side that achieved reasonable results - a decent side in a crumbling ground where away-fans facilities were unacceptable (it seemed that often there was not even hot water for drinks).

Then, adding to the silliness, was the attempt to merge - to create the next Rushden & Diamonds - but not two local clubs taking advantage of economies of scale, but considering the merger of unrelated clubs not in proximity (Kingstonian was one, I recall). He also threatened to 'pull the plug' on Farnborough TFC if he did not get what he wanted from the local authorities - who with Aldershot nearby, didn't appear to give a stuff at his threat.

All of that was before Highbury.

Westley then blatently switched the FA Cup tie to highbury to get more revenue - as a result, the FA will not permit such beneficial switching in future - I understand it can still be done, but not for profit - which punished all other potential swappers. Of course, FTFC fans justified it at the time - they expected their club to benefit - it was only when the big picture emerged and that GW was trousering the money as loan repayments before leaving, that they wised up.

GW caused a transfer ban on FTFC by refusing to accept an FA contract decision against him - refusing to do so appeared nonsense at the time.

Then there was the game that Farnborough conveneiently and inexplicably lost.

A team comfortably mid-table, they had trounced bottom-feeders Woking, yet fell apart to an ordinary Boro side also in the relegation pit - yet a side for whom many player were to become employed. It was perplexing, until GW moved to Boro, then all became clear.

All the above happened BEFORE the worthless players joined Boro and that simply magnified his previous sins.

The dislike of Westley is part of modern non-league football - Stevenage happens to be his present haven and whilst one could mock his pseudo self-doubt and tempting offer of resignation (has he got somewhere else lined up?), his Previous Convictions are there for all to see. Even otherwise genial football folk can raise some bile when Westley comes under discussion. You have simply got yourselves saddled with a selfish, egotistical maniac with modest management ability. You'll find that people dislike Westley much more than they dislike a particular club - he stands for those vices that plague football

This one is taken from a Yeovil v Farnborough match report, sounds a right one..If he get's sent off i'm running for cover

_____________________________________________________________________

On Yeovil's left wing McIndoe and Warner tussled and the two opponents ended up face-to-face and received yellow card for their antics. This sparked the most amusing incident of the evening that distracted the main stands attention for nigh on ten minutes. Graham Westley, the Farnborough manager was obviously incensed with the referee's decision and his protest earned him an early departure from the touchline. He took up a seat in the main stand but not content with the view shared by the rest of the main stand insisted on standing up for a better view, or perhaps to shout instructions down to his number two. The stewards asked him to be seated, to which he complied. But no sooner had they moved away than he was up again. The steward's asked him to be seated again, this time he was insistent that he stayed on his feet. Eventually after minutes of pushing and shoving he sat down. But, the Police had been called and he was eventually lead away. Farnborough were still losing 1-0.

its simple really...if you 'grab' a football club for whatever reason...look after it for the the real owners...(the fans) ..or else it will bite you...

westley was an [****!!****]...he destroyed a football club for money....500k.....

peanuts really......but...

real footie owners who care for their clubs wouldn't do that....

that's why they hate him....

Well there are many different stories on Westley. No doubt you will all join many people and jump on the bandwagon without sufficient facts, but i suppose that's human nature.

Hopefully no matter your views on Westley, it won't affect the attitude of you towards SBFC and us fans. We have taken much stick from other fans despite the fact we have nothing to do with it. We will support Westley because he is our manager and surely any fans of any club would do the same.

I look forward to the trip and hopefully a good game. See you in the bar.

I can't see you geting any more stick than any other club that comes to our "stadium of dreams" and certainlly no-where near as much as 'Ricay this Saturday (might have to be water polo as i hear the pitch yesterday was under water ).

See ya on the 31st safe trip down and we will see you all in the bar afterwards, drowning your sorrows (touch wood )

most?...some of us yes..Mainly due to the fact that we are being made aware that the place we live actually has a football team down to good PR and advertising and sheer hard work by the staff at HFC (well done Andy), and that they play very good football...something you wouldn't know about being a Ricay supporter.

On the other hand, I will forgive your silly little outburst as you are only 12 and are yet to discover puberty and all the things that go with it...here's looking forward to hearing you shreiking voice on saturday, and calling out "mummy, those mean men in the red and white beat us off the park today"

now...GO TO YOUR ROOM!
