Players re-signing, leaving and joining

Recommended Posts

All that really matters at this stage is that you get your 'spine ' sorted.

We have signed on Jack again . Excellent ,you always need the best keeper you can get ( note to Mr Klopp).

NIs , with his experience sorts Centre half . Toggs is the holding central midfielder and Flood leads the line .

With all due respect to everyone else ,get those positions right and we are half way there . The other positions and personnel are all important but not Vital in the way these 4 positions are .

For what it's worth I think we are going to have a really enjoyable first season in The South .

We are going to,catch a lot of teams unaware with the quality of our football but we will get the occasional bullying from a stronger more streetwise team . Whatever the outcome the chance to pit our wits against some new sides and have some new adventures is awesome.

I don’t think Sean Fraser was intended as a right back at the beginning of last season..... if you recall he played several pre-season friendlies as a central midfielder.

Sean Fraser has always officially been a right back since he joined us.

He can and has played in central midfield, more so last pre-season/season because we had competition with two other right backs in Josh Jackman and Nathan Smart.

Someone I worked with who knows Sean said that he was a striker when he was younger.

So the brief squad update tells us every player bar Lench has agreed ‘terms’ for the coming season. Would it be right to assume the 4 players who confirmed previous to this have signed contracts and the rest not? Hopefully this Lench replacement signs and if so maybe we’ll hear something next week.

The fact we don’t have/use a sub goalie I doubt we’ll bring in another one. If Jack gets injured Neil & Jon have enough contacts to bring in someone short term. If we’re talking 2 or 3 new players I think it’ll definitely be a defender and central midfielder. With 4 strikers I can’t see another one signing unless one leaves.

Reading the squad update it looks like it'll only be the one player to sign pre-season if our managers think he's got the right qualities and he agrees to sign up and a few players turning up for pre season.

My bet is it'll be a mid-fielder who can play in various positions if required.

Definitely no keeper.

Ben Harris can play in goal for the odd game and as Glen say's if short/long term the gaffers have enough contacts to get one in.

It’ll be a midfielder as they’ve already stated they’re after a quality replacement for Lenchmo. As the article says trialists are always difficult to predict as they may agree to play but could well be offered deals elsewhere or better opportunities. I think it’s more likely we’ll see more player movement during the season rather than pre-season.
