Feet back to earth please, it’s only friendlies remember!!!

Glennie, they are pre-season games not friendlies!

Can you honestly say any of our pre season games have been friendly, especially the Boreham Wood game?

Players do not like to lose any game.

While pre-season games don't count for much, I think going into a new division it's better to be winning games than losing them, so the good news is that Hampton and Richmond lost to Farnborough 2-1 yesterday, and going by their forum it appears they haven't nailed down their best eleven yet and seem to be still mixing and matching their players.

This makes me think, that for the first game of the season, Slough have a bloody good chance of getting the 3 points straight away.

You can take nothing for granted in football but looking at the fixtures for August, we could of had a far harder, trickier start, so I think having a winning momentum and with a tight knit group of players should be a benefit to our team going into the first couple of months of the season.

If the points tally are meagre come the end of September, then a drastic re-think will be needed. Hopefully, this won't be the case.

Bit of a concerning assessment from someone who obviously thinks he has a depth of knowledge of the National South:-

‘Neil Baker’s Rebels may have been one of the quieter sides over the summer, but their two key signings Sam Togwell and Louie Soares both add real ability. I think Slough’s smaller squad may hinder them, but I think they will have enough to finish above some of the league’s weaker sides.’

Followed up with a prediction that we will finish 18th.
