A place to discuss all the excitement of this momentous match:-

1. what starting line up would you pick?

2. what attendance do you think there will be?

3. what can we all do to maximise the advantage of being at home?

4. predict a score

5. share any news or gossip about Kettering you think might be interesting or useful

6. or just generally express excitement & anticipation about this big match

Play nicely, be friendly to any new posters, and enjoy another big match!!

Firstly, I have to say with 19 fit players to select from it's a great position to be in but on the other hand how the hell do our managers go about choosing a starting 11 is beyond me.

I'll start with a bit of a cop out by selecting the players who I think should be definite starters:

 1)             Turner

        Day  Hollis  Wells

    Togwell  Lench  Dobson

              Williams

2)  Attendance 1,600

3)  Kettering supporters will be noisy so we need to make sure we give the boy's our full vocal support.

4)  2-1 to Slough after extra time.

5)  Kettering have the leagues most potent strike force with Aaron O'Connor (32) Mathew Stevens (28) and Brett Solkhon (22) goals for the season.

Their skipper Brett Solkhon came off injured yesterday and is a doubt for the game.

Kettering's achilles heel seems to be their defense which has leaked more goals than any of the other top 5 teams.

Attendance 1,600

That would be a big attendance that could cause some nervousness at the Club...... would the gates be locked if it reached 1,950.

The Merthyr Hitchin semi-final last season had 1,453, and that was two clubs with average attendances of about 500 each.

My figure is based purely upon the fact that we had nearly 800 yesterday and if Kettering bring about 400 that only leaves 400 to find for such a big game.

If I could have picked our opponents before kick off yesterday it would have been Kettering Its true they have 3 potent strikers but it only takes one injury and one off day and you're left with a one trick pony One of our strengths this season is that goals can come from anyone/anywhere we've won games when on paper we've only had a single forward Kettering have been a Jeckyll and Hyde team this year No team not even Hereford won more home games but they're easily the poorest away team in the top group both in games won and goals conceded away Of course its a one off game anything can happen but we must make as much noise as possible and keep that up constantly even in a bad patch I think the gate will be around 1700 if word is got out Everyone intending to come should ask at least one friend neighbour workmate to come along Pricing may affect the gate Kings Lynn have announced their semi will be category C ie normal league match prices I hope we do the same Most of all we need luck on our side but we've been lucky lately and I think we'll win

Just seen that the only game on TV is Liverpool going through the motions at Roma so I wouldn't think that would be a distraction for anyone wanting to come to the game.

But you have forgotten that the highlight of all our seasons is also on that night The B and B final between Chesham Utd and MK Dons at Stadium MK ??? Edited by CheshFan

The Mrs already had a night out in the calendar so I'm bringing my 9 year old daughter so that I can get along. She came with me to the MK Dons game the other week and really enjoyed it so not much persuading was needed. She loves laughing at what everyone shouts and has asked if "binoculars man" is going to be there again. Which leads me to ask, as it's not a Season Ticket game are the seats in the main stand first come first served?

My team would be...

Turner

Fraser Hollis Nisbet Wells

Lench Togwell Dunn Dobson

Flood Williams

Whether to go with Dunn, Davies or Wazza was the headache for me.

Plenty of options on the bench too.

Prediction 3-1 Slough.

Attendance, 1,100.

That micky mouse cup might be the highlight of your season, but some of us have proper games to play - Please mind the 25 point gap cheshfan.

P.S. thanks for the 4 points this season.

I can understand season tickets not being valid for play-off matches..... and although disappointing if season ticket holders can't reserve their regular seats, it would probably be a logistical problem to sort out at such short notice.

No, I won't have it. Leave CheshFan alone.

We should take pity on him because he's had such a miserable time this season with nothing to cheer about I think he should be allowed to trudge up to MK with his fellow Chesham fans (at a rough guess I'd say about half a dozen) and enjoy his evening watching the final of the Bed and Breakfast cup in peace. That is of course if he can be arsed to go and instead finds something more interesting to do like cutting the grass.
