v Royston (away)

Recommended Posts

Just to give you some feedback, at present it is ours and Steve's decision to keep the end of season awards pretty simple after the game against Royston.

Any kind of event takes an awful lot of planning, and with what the club has had to take on this year especially since taking over the bar and food (with not enough volunteers) we felt that we would do what we did last year, as it enables us to recognise the players in front of probably slightly larger numbers than would go to a paid event (evening), however the organisation that goes into it is a lot less.

We have had so much to organise this season, and once the season finishes I think all will need a little break (albeit very short as we never really stop)

By all means is people really want a bigger event, then happily put your name forward to the committee and volunteer to help out on this for next season, and I am sure that this can be looked at, and it might be slightly easier to do something next year when we have a handle on things, however it still tends to fall on the same people to organise.

In terms of Saturday we will do the presentation on the pitch straight after the game, and would love for as many of you as possible to congregate in the main stand, and then afterwards all the players will be staying until at least 6/6.30pm for a few drinks in the bar, and I believe there is also a game live on BT Sports.

There may not be much of a break for those who VOLUNTEER.

In the close season any events which need stewarding, catering/bar facilities etc and all the unseen work still need to be serviced.

Our club have a terrific team off the field, who we owe our thanks to, so from me personally Thank You All, you know who you are

It's also worth pointing out that the end of season awards events in the past have been Trust organised events, with any proceeds raised going to the Club. Still of course run by volunteers with a lot of hard work going into it.

I am told that there will be food served up on Saturday evening after the presentations so please do your best to stay if you can and encourage others to do so as well.
