3spirit
Just been reading the Wealdstone forum, makes our forum look staid. It seems Bobby Wilkinson [Wealdstone manager] is getting all manner of flak for the team's performances and his player recruitment policy. Many fans seem to want him axed, after only three quarters of the season at the club. The new chairman/club have splashed the cash but results haven't followed. Will Bobby stay or be pushed out? It got me thinking how lucky and spoilt we've been at Slough for the last ten years. Thankfully, we have/had an excellent chairman in Steve Easterbrook,. and because of his clever managerial appointments the club has gone from strength to strength. Steve Bateman, and even more successfully, Bakes and Unders have provided the club with a sure footing and have taken the club on leaps and bounds. Having seen what has happened to Slough in the past, what is happening with Burnham and what is unfolding at Wealdstone, I hope If we are to have a new chairman, he bears his predecessor's wise actions in mind, if he/she takes over. . Reading Rebel
Only last night I was talking about Matt Day having come from Wealdstone and happened to mention that the Wealdstone forum don't take any prisoners when it comes to slaughtering players and the manager. Sir Rebel1965
If you want that type of forum then this one can be spiced up, however some people then moan. This forum can be sterile at times to the point that unless your follow the "only positive posts" line you are called non-loyal to the club. That is why so many of the old stalwarts no-longer post. It has to be remembered that this is an independent forum and the club has previously made a point of stating that it has no involvement or links to it – other than when it wants things advertised. Reading Rebel
TBH I would like to think that no one would want a forum like the Wealdstone one.
Longshot
On all Forums you should be able to give your honest opinion on any subject that arises, As long as you are not rude or abusive about things others say that you do not agree with. Since being on this Forum I have found it on the whole to be very fair towards all other posters and their opinions.
Shredding Green
Our joint managers obviously monitor this forum as if anything is incorrectly stated or if there is doubt regarding a matter relating to the team or management, they post a corrective or clarifying statement. I like it!

I like it! To me it's a huge positive to have Bakes and Unders ratifying posts. Fans and managers are never always going to agree with everything that is done but it is far better to have accessible managers to clear up points/rumour/hearsay than not IMO. Think this is where Steve Bateman went wrong, as he took umbrage at various forum comments and accused many fans of being 'keyboard warriors' in the press, which in the majority of cases isn't true. Yes, you do get the odd troll. or someone with an axe to grind that can get personal but the vast majority of posters are just fans of football, who are passionate about what they watch at games. Despite what some fans think, I think our fans forum on the whole is a good one.
GarySTFC
You want a forum where all opinions can be expressed without a witch hunt for anything that's not completely positive. I think this one is not too bad for that. Back to the original topic and devils advocate here. Should we not go up and Bobby leaves Wealdstone, would our managers be a target for Wealdstone? Aren't Wealdstone in danger of being kicked out of their ground at some point in the future?

Let's hope not, regarding Bakes and Unders. I would be surprised if Bakes and Unders would swap Slough for Wealdstone but you never know in football. Also if Wealdstone do part company with Bobby Wilkinson, I wouldn't expect Wealdstone to make another appointment from a lower division. More likely they will go for someone with Conference and Conference South experience. A possbility could be Garry Hill [ex Woking/Dagenham and Redbridge], a proven manager who currently is out of work. His record speaks for itself and would seem a good fit to match Wealdstone's ambitions.

'Wealdstone's ambitions' According to the fans there is almost certain to be budget cuts for next season amid rumours their new Chairman is already cheesed off with putting a shed load of money into the club and getting nothing in return. Seems Bobby Wilkinson got some real dogs abuse from the fans after their 4-4 draw with Chippenham.
3spirit
'Wealdstone's ambitions' According to the fans there is almost certain to be budget cuts for next season amid rumours their new Chairman is already cheesed off with putting a shed load of money into the club and getting nothing in return. Seems Bobby Wilkinson got some real dogs abuse from the fans after their 4-4 draw with Chippenham. They took a chance appointing Bobby Wilkinson and so far it hasn't paid off but that's not to say he couldn't still turn it around.Sometimes a manager needs to season to assess what players he wants to keep, what players are on his side and what ones aren't, and what he's faced with in the division his team is playing in so that he can get the best out of them. The trouble as I see it, is that Bobby Wilkinson's main contacts were with Reading FC and his previous club Hungerford. Did he have much of a clue about the quality in the Conference South before he went there? So far I think not. He's chopped and changed players but has yet to know what his best 11 is. The Wealdstone fans don't seem a patient lot and are peed off with his tactics and the football style he's trying to play. Some complaining about resorting to the 'long ball' game. Bobby's under pressure to get his team winning but a lot of Wealdstone fans don't seem to be giving him a lot of slack. To me the chairman [Peter Marsden] has made a rod for his own back by succumbing to every request for money from the manager, the fans and the Wealdstone board of directors. He wanted the glory of being Wealdstone's saviour but now he's crying because he's overspent. I don't have a lot of sympathy for him. Sounds like his heart is in the right place, in caring about the club but he has to take some responsibility for the mess he's created. Has tried too much in a short space of time.
