v Basingstoke

Funny how it’s the same old lines used with no actual evidence? And yes only a few places but points wise it’s a big gap and after yesterday’s embarrassment surely no sane CU fan believes there’s any chance of making the PO’s?

To be honest most of us didn't think we had anymore than 5% chance even before yesterday.

Scott Davies has been at a few of our games before signing for you and by all accounts was one of the better compensated players at that level (and we all know players don't take massive pay cuts to sign somewhere else)

Watching this little discussion...just a few points come to mind...

It's perfectly natural for supporters of clubs to be interested in their local teams, especially when they're in the same area of the table, so 'obsession' is probably a bit strong.  What was being highlighted was that a Chesham fan came on here specifically to point out that we were losing on Tuesday and then made no further comment after we came back to win.  If you're going to make such comments and then not follow up, such a response is normal.

Comments on the wage of Scott Davies or any other player is irrelevant and not the business of our own fans or fans of any other clubs.  Our chairman puts no money into the Club and the Club is self sufficient, so any wage paid to any of our players would be within that remit and entirely at the discretion of the managers and chairman.

If we could act like adults on here rather than just making sniping comments the whole place would be much more pleasant.

If we can get back on topic, it was an excellent game yesterday after the initial setback.  Most of our fans would probably have been pleased with a draw given Basingstoke's recent home record.but to win 4-1 was probably beyond even the most optimistic fan's thoughts.  It was a good solid performance across the whole team, but it is a real shame to see Ben go off with another hamstring issue.  Credit to the managers and players for another excellent away performance.  Impressed by the work of the new signings too.  Manny was once again excellent and deserved his goal, while Dunn gets stronger in midfield since his return.

Tuesday will certainly be a tough test and again a point would be a good result in my opinion.

Not sure but at the time I was a couple of yards away and just thought Manny was booked because the ball was so far outside the quadrant that even the ref could see it from a distance. As you say it could possibly have been for time wasting.

I heard every word said, and the ref never said anything about the ball, or even noticed it was outside

I was seated in the stand near the halfway line opposite the dugouts, and there was a lot of shouting when Manny went over to take the corner...... I think Basingstoke had been preparing to make a substitution, but then decided not to make the substitution when they were defending a corner. Manny would have been facing the dugout and possibly delayed because of this, the referee had his back to the dugout and might not have been aware of what was going on.

I might be wrong...... but I pretty certain they made their substitution the very next time the ball went out.

We were caught in traffic so missed the first few minutes. Good job too. Other than going behind again best performance I've seen since Christmas. Welk organised yet still dangerous. Only one Manny of the Match for me.

The early goal luckily didn’t effect the result and performance and we showed great character to not only get back into game but to win comfortably. Williams, Davies, Nisbet were my stand outs today.

Agree about Manny Williams and Scott Davies having excellent games but I thought Nis was shaky and I've yet to see him have a good game at Basingstoke.
