Despite our league positions Basingstoke are 5/4 favourites to win the game, we are 6/4 with the draw 5/2.

Probably their excellent home record swings the betting in their favour. They've won 13 and only lost 2 fewer losses than ourselves.

The footballwebpages predicted score is 1-0 to Basingstoke, but personally I think both sides would probably be happy with a draw, and when that is the case a draw is usually the outcome.

 

5/2 the draw looks like an attractive wager to me.

With Weymouth after Basingstoke we need to win on Saturday as a draw with Weymouth would be a decent result. I know Basingstoke have a great home record but after a confidence boosting win midweek plus 2 strong signings I would hope we’d have enough to nick a narrow victory.

6 points would be great but realistically 4 points would be satisfactory.

 

With Weymouth away on Tuesday our target must be 3 points from this game.

I think an element of realism is required, and anything more than 2 points from these two matches will be a bonus.

The realism is Basingstoke are mid table and if we want to cement a top 5 finish these are the games we need to win. Weymouth on the other hand are above us and being away midweek in front of a large crowd a point is realistic.

We didn't manage to win at home against Basingstoke just over 2 weeks ago, but now we're away to them, where they have a better record than everyone except Hereford, Kings Lynn and Kettering, you expect us to win.

 

For me a win would be a great bonus, but it's not an expectation.

I’m just saying games against mid table sides are ones we need to be winning when we have tougher games where a draw is fine. If we go draw all games against similar opponents we may not make the PO’s.

Excellent win against the leagues best performing team over the last 5games Neutrals would have made Basingstoke the favourites before kick off but all season we have raised our game when it really mattered and against the teams perceived to be strongest Huge boost to confidence also for the Weymouth encounter

The icing on the cake today was the defeats of Royston and Chesham I think our play off place is a given now.

Calm it Irish! Yes it’s looking good but I’d give it another 2 games before we start stating we’ve got a PO place. I think if we can secure 7 points from the next 3 games we’ll grab at least 5th. Our confidence should be high after 2 excellent away wins.

Very good performance today..... disappointing to concede the early goal and to lose Ben Harris to what looked like another hamstring injury.

 

Scott Davies looked very good, and Matt Day looked like he needed a bigger shirt!

The early goal luckily didn’t effect the result and performance and we showed great character to not only get back into game but to win comfortably. Williams, Davies, Nisbet were my stand outs today.

Sad to experience a delapidated Camrose and overpriced admission, no programmes (cost saving apparently), toilets like the Black Hole of Calcutta. Hopefully move to new ground will see an upturn in financial fortunes for BTFC

 

Excellent performance by the Rebels, our first win (and perhaps last) there in living memory!

I thought that the league requires the home team to provide a programme.

 

To add to the woes of the ground, many of the floodlights were also not working. With few or no midweek games to play, I guess that it is not worth replacing them before the bulldozers turn up.

 

I, for one, wish Basingstoke the best of luck for the future.

 

A good performance from us today, especially after conceding a very early goal. Well done to all of the players and management for today's performance. A point on Tuesday night will be a good result, although three would be even better!!

 

A win against Chesham on Easter Monday would go a long way towards guaranteeing a playoff place.

I fully agree not an acceptable system The program for this game was riddled with errors Named players no longer with us and said SuperKev was still with us. If only that were true!
