Game for Grown Ups ?

With Dobbo getting a yellow card yesterday just wanted to mark something quite remarkable .

. In his this second spell with us he has played 92 games scored 40 goals and and recieved 14 yellow cards.

Compare that to his first spell with us played. 46 games scored 4 goals and received 13 yellow and 1 red .

He is still a ' plays on the edge' charecter but that edge now provides 3 goals for every card rather than 3 cards for every goal.

Don't know if it was the break, the managers influence or just growing up a bit but it's great to see someone making the most of their talent and opportunity.

Now if Dobbo could just use that new maturity and put his arm around the lad who got the red yesterday and show him the error of his ways ???,

Ha ha not going to live that one down...... my first red as a manager (I only got three as a player also) I wouldn’t have minded if it was for something that I am not meant to do, however the referee admitted to me after the game that he was probably too hasty, and that he should have probably consulted with the assistant to see what I had said, and he confirmed I had not sworn, so effectively I was sent off for leaving my technical area.

Less said about this the better, however if I get a fine through I will be appealing and had the foresight to record my conversation with the officials afterwards, just so I had some confirmation of what was said, so they can not deny saying what they did.

In terms of Dobbo I think it is him maturing as a player mostly , however I would like to think we have some influence on discipline throughout the team, as players are fined etc for dissent and red cards (not a professional foul for example) and these fines would stack up if they constantly received them... and I think our discipline is up there with one of the best in the league.
