v St Neots

Think everyone being a little bit too downbeat.

We got 3 points off a team that completely frustrated us in the reverse fixture, who were unlucky to lose away at Hereford this week.

Last weeks excellent win at KL looks all the better as they got a draw at Banbury ( who beat us )

And Tiverton who beat us also beat King Lynn !

With Kettering losing that means we return to being only second to Hereford in games lost .

It's all still in our hands about where we finish after Hereford.

Looks like next game will be at Weymouth. What a game that should be . Thought they looked excellent when we beat them 3-0 and they went on an run after that when they only lost one till yesterday's loss to Hereford.

Agree with most of what you say Stan.

Being pedantic, I don't think St Neots were unlucky to lose at Hereford. Yes, the score was only 1-0 but the match report, stats etc all point to Hereford battering St Neots for most of the game without scoring the goals their play deserved.

As for Weymouth, I think we were excellent when we beat them comprehensively 3-0 but from a Weymouth point of view they were missing some important players including the leagues top scorer Brandon Goodship, so if Saturday's game goes ahead it should one hell of a game.

Depends on opinions.

For sure.

As regards next season, would you rather be in National North or South?

I think we would have a better chance of promotion in National South, North have a lot of the bigger teams, but I don't think we will know till the end of the season which division we could be put into, A lot will depend on who gain promotion/relegation. Hope Dave Carpenter has a quick recovery.

100% should have passed. But on a hat trick, and effectively one on one you would also expect him to put it away anyway. Certainly didn't look an 'open goal' from behind the goal. Otherwise thought he looked a handful and took the 2 goals he did score well. Luke knight was a clown as was the ref who lost control so much that by the end he was dishing out cards just to prove he had them I think!!! A win is a win and one that was most welcome with some tough trips to come. I do agree that our game management when one up with 10/15 to go needs to be looked at, what their bloke was doing passing when through on goal near the end I don't know but could so easily have got them a point that the newts would certainly not have deserved.

Don’t care if it was last game of the season and he needed 1 to be top scorer at 2-1 you square it for flood to tap in. Agree with Radders 100% here. Still had a great game though.

Looking at the match report from St Neots of yesterday's game the headline say's that they can feel hard done coming away with nothing from yesterday's game so I know which report I prefer to believe.

Just read their report and funny how they missed out that their defender also hand balled in our goal mouth and was vainly turned down. So kinda makes that even so where is this “hard done by” facts. Also if their players spent less time on the floor and not having bitch fits over nothing may have got that equaliser.

Although we've lost a few unexpected points in recent weeks I think its gone unnoticed how many points (excepting Hereford) our PO rivals have shed I always use as a yardstick how many points a team has lost all season and we are still in a very strong position. Current figures are

Hereford 19

Kings Lynn 32

Weymouth 36

Kettering 32

Chesham 47

Slough 27

Tiverton 46

Banbury 53

We are second only to Hereford and the team keeping us out of the top five has lost 20 point more than us We don't have to win all our games in hand We've been averaging 2 points a game Even that would put us in the seventies and IMO our aim should be second with the advantages that brings .

Very tough 5 fixtures IF they all go ahead. Realistically home to Frome and away to Basingstoke are games we have to be winning. A win and 2 draws from the other 3 and you’d have to be happy with that.

You say we have to win at Basingstoke Glen, but they have one of the best home records in the division, I think they have only lost two all season, it is their away form which is why they are only mid table.

I expect to win most games if I am honest, but clearly we don’t, however we will win more than we lose.

As Mark has stated that is a tough run of games, however let’s be honest the chances of Tuesday night going ahead have to be 0.0001%, and even Saturday at Weymouth according to forecast at the moment does not look great.

The Royston game if off will no doubt be put in for the last Tuesday of the season, meaning a double header against them, however hopefully by that stage we will hopefully have secured a play off place.

They also say that it was Dobbo who went past the defender and crossed to Perry Coles for the first goal and also say it was Dobbo who missed the open goal when hitting the post instead of Perry.

Personally I'd take their match reporting as not very factual and a tad biased.
