v St Neots

Eventful game for many reasons.

First of all hope that the person the ambulance was called for is ok although it did look serious but hope it was not that bad.

The game was eventful with Perry getting his first goal in the first minute and then another in the same half, good chances for Flood who hit the post and other chances first half.

Pity we gave a soft goal away on the stroke of half time.

Second half was scrappy and not helped by the ref who looked out of his depth.  We should had more goals but poor attacking decisions kept the score the same.

Was badly disappointed by the behavior of ex-Slough player Luke Knight who verbally abused a ten year old Slough fan.

Well done rebels for getting the result against a physical St Neots, started very well faded after first goal and didn’t really do much in between 1st and 2nd goal, and we switched off at two nil and let them straight back in the game. Thought Coles should have played the team game for Flood to make it three I know he was on a hatrick but a goal is a goal and we could have been punished for that one moment. Three points in the bag onwards and upwards and Coles did well to take his chances hopefully more to come. Interesting before the game Turner was not happy about Lench floating a ball into the goal while he was warming up ending in a Turner heated exchange.

That was cold!

Well, a blistering start and then the game became very scrappy, the officials losing control, and second half descended into a farce. Not a game where anyone really shone but they showed character to stick in there, which is what we've all been asking for the last few weeks, not get bullied and grind it out.

Not to be negative but a genuine concern, how many times in the last 10 mins of games when leading do we get caught high and opponents have a run at a one on one? From my angle, what a bizarre decision by the St Neots player to try and square it!

A deserved win though, and couldn't fault the effort.

By the way, what happened in the stand 2nd half? Looked like someone may have collapsed. If so, hope whoever it was is ok.

That was a bit tongue in cheek from Jack...

From Neil's tweet I understand it was Dave Carpenter who went off in the ambulance. Not sure what happened but hope all is ok. All the best for a speedy recovery.

Not pretty but we ground out a result which the teams above us do week in week out, every team has a bad run lets hope our wobble is over,if we just put a run together we are in with a shout.Agree poor ref never let the game flow.

Good results for both you and us today.....

For sure.

As regards next season, would you rather be in National North or South?

Firstly, my thoughts are with Dave Carpenter, get well soon Dave.

Thoroughly deserved win against an ugly/wingy St Neots side.

The conditions and a poor excuse for a Ref played a huge part in today's game but getting the 3 points is all that matters at this stage of the season.

Well done to Perry Coles for his two goals. On the bit about whether he should have passed the ball to Floody, I might be wrong but wasn't it almost an open goal when he hit the post? if so why would he pass to someone else?

COYR!!!!

100% should have passed. But on a hat trick, and effectively one on one you would also expect him to put it away anyway. Certainly didn't look an 'open goal' from behind the goal. Otherwise thought he looked a handful and took the 2 goals he did score well. Luke knight was a clown as was the ref who lost control so much that by the end he was dishing out cards just to prove he had them I think!!! A win is a win and one that was most welcome with some tough trips to come. I do agree that our game management when one up with 10/15 to go needs to be looked at, what their bloke was doing passing when through on goal near the end I don't know but could so easily have got them a point that the newts would certainly not have deserved.

If one on one and not a open goal then perhaps he should have passed but as you say he was on his hat-trick so suppose not many strikers would have passed.

Think everyone being a little bit too downbeat.

We got 3 points off a team that completely frustrated us in the reverse fixture, who were unlucky to lose away at Hereford this week.

Last weeks excellent win at KL looks all the better as they got a draw at Banbury ( who beat us )

And Tiverton who beat us also beat King Lynn !

With Kettering losing that means we return to being only second to Hereford in games lost .

It's all still in our hands about where we finish after Hereford.

Looks like next game will be at Weymouth. What a game that should be . Thought they looked excellent when we beat them 3-0 and they went on an run after that when they only lost one till yesterday's loss to Hereford.
