Come on Rochdale

Of course all the talk is not about the football but about VAR.

During the game a penalty was scored and then disallowed due to the Spurs player virtually stopping during his run up.

I think this could have opened another can of worms.

In future when VAR is in operation will a penalty that's been scored now be disallowed due to not only a players run up but also to player encroachment or the keeper moving/coming off his line which happens on virtually every penalty that's taken?

That's the rules you can't stop on the run up.

What concerns me is the way the pen was given, Stay up, stay up, get into the box then go over to get a pen.

Correct, but if VAR is there to make sure the rules of the game are upheld so that correct decisions are reached than encroachment and the keeper staying on his line at penalties must also be upheld.

The way they have implemented VAR, completely different to where it has been successfully used for years, it makes you think they were forced into it, and put in rules of use that will only make it fail.

A referee puts his finger to his ears (Who can see that in a stadium)

No one in the stadium sees what's going on

VAR is called at every game changing action, regardless, slowing down restarts from the best of goals

VAR result should only change the original decision if it is clear the ref got the law wrong.

Eight minutes were added to the first half, through VAR alone, and the ref only added on 5.

The ref officiated that first half as if it was his first game, double guessing himself on nearly every decision.

So, going from all that, the FA will probably keep it as it is, as it's an absolute joke at the moment

Agree with all this. I watch a lot of MLS through my job and it was introduced there in August and works well there. Not a perfect system and still evolving but the right decisions are being made, it feels like a step in the right direction and, crucially, it is communicated clearly to the broadcasters and within the stadium. I was at Wembley last night and, as someone who has been pro VAR, I thought it was an absolute farce. Just utter confusion and zero communication. VAR should only step in if a clear and obvious mistake has been made and looking back at the two from the last night, there really was no clear and obvious mistake made. Both incidents were so borderline and open for interpretation either way.

If you think of the sports that have implemented some kind of technical decision review (tennis, cricket, rugby) it's always taken a while and then become accepted and part of the drama. I think that will happen in football as they get used to the capabilities and as football fans get used to the spectacle.

Dulwich's landlords have served the football club with a invoice for £121,000 for back rent and have had their lease terminated immediately.

They have now also received a letter from the Landlords solicitors advising that the landlords now own the trademarks of " Dulwich Hamlet Football Club" DHFC" and "The Hamlet" and that the football club must cease immediately from using these marks on any printed literature and online activity.
