Biggleswade

Someone has got it in for us!!! I wasn’t even concerned until I read they’d be an inspection then I just knew it’ll be off. We must now be playing every midweek until the season ends? I know you can’t use it as an excuse but it certainly makes it a lot harder with all these games including long midweek matches to play. Looks like we’ll have to get promoted the hard way!

Not sure about the timing. The forecast for Biggleswade this afternoon is dry now, perhaps it could've waited until 4pm or sometime around then to see. Given it's been dry for Sunday and Monday, it's very annoying that the pitch can be pushed over the top by a bit of rain this morning.

Their pitch was in a bad state from the Biggleswade FC game their Saturday and were unable to even get on the pitch to do any work to it...

Whilst frustrating, 100% the right decision to call it off early, they cant win however... they leave it late and we get there and a ref calls it off...

From a practical point of view, some players have to get out of work between 3/4pm, myself I would have had to leave my office by 3pm, so has saved people using holiday etc by the early inspection.

There was widespread rain overnight Monday/Tuesday and it was certainly lashing down in the wee small hours when I had to arise for a wee small purpose. Frustrating all round and causing Mike Lightfoot and co. major headaches with the coach bookings. Please remember whoever is in charge up there that COYR means "Come on you Rebels" not "Come on you Rain"

Neil/Jon, given that the current forecast for Biggleswade is dry until at least Tuesday (with the exception of a bit of Sunday night), and with both teams having no game next week, is there any chance of the game being rescheduled for Tuesday?

Nope I actually posted yesterday but with the problems with server it was deleted.

Few issues which I won’t go into on here, but suffice to say we have been working very hard on trying to get a midweek game, but everything seems to have conspired against us.

This therefore means we go with the following away midweek games.

27th v Royston

6th March v Basingstoke

13th v Kings Lynn

20th v St Ives

27th will more than likely be County Cup semi final, but we also play Dunstable on Friday the 30th and Chesham home on Monday the 2nd April

4th April v Frome (Wednesday)

9th/10th v Hitchin/Biggleswade

16th/17th v Hitchin/Biggleswade

Which leaves us the last midweek spare at the moment.

A very tough ask, and we will really need everyone to get behind the lads.
