Agreed - he can't hit those high notes. That doesn't make him tone deaf.

 

I have every album they've done, from 1981's debut through to 2000's Pop Trash. They have released a tremendous body of work, and yes, on occasions I think they've been at the forefront of creativity.

 

Practically invented the pop video as we know it today, and with it kick-started MTV, they re-invented themselves with each of their five albums during the '80s.

 

Singles like Wild Boys and The Reflex were way out there at their time of release, and All She Wants Is was probably the first single that fused dance music and grungy guitars to make the Top 30.

 

Okay, the singles chart is not always a benchmark of quality, but along with Madonna, they were the only act to enjoy over 10 consecutive Top 10 singles in the '80s. Their first two albums - Duran Duran and Rio - remained on the charts for well over two years each.
