Redditch 6th February

Totally agree with you Sue (not Julie!). The problem is of course that there is a certain cadre who like to moan and groan but find it difficult to lay down positive thoughts. Personally I think that this has been a tremendous season and there is plenty to come yet. All teams will have glitchy periods. I know Jon and Neil won't make excuses but it doesn't help if you have problems such as losing a striker in consecutive games either!COYR!

Injuries are never good but problems recently have not been physical but mental. We have a sufficiently good squad to cope with missing personnel , look at the start of the season when we rotated aggressively and still got results with whatever team we put out.

I always thought we would win Tuesday just needed to get our heads straight and remember what we need to do. Classic example was losing Harris so early with no Flood . But in comes James and was second only to wazza for MOM in my opinion.

Although he did not score his link-up play and threat were excellent and so showed how much strength in depth we have. We just need to be mentally tougher, defend as a unit, and stop, worrying about the state of pitches and how many games we have to catch up .

You only play one game at a time.

Everyone knows what we need to do to win Saturady. Let's hope the team put it into practice.

Sue Agree but its human nature across almost everything in life When everything is going well people say little when they perceive that things are going wrong they become vocal I thought Tuesdays display was more than adequate against the poorest Redditch side for a long time? Have we turned things round? I think we'll know at final whistle on Saturday Banbury are formidable away 9 away wins second best number in the league and have lost the same number as Kings Lynn and Weymouth They won't roll over like Redditch If we can get at least 1 point I'd say we are back on track

No, it doesn’t.

Matt please clarify Earlier in the season we were told that season ticket holders were all included in the gates of league games only and that the league approved and other teams were doing it. Has this changed?

Stan - I totally agree with your analysis and am pleased you thought, as I did, that Gavin James did well on his 50th appearance for the club (his appearances having been curtailed by injuries). I also agree with Irishadrian regarding peoples perceptions which I said in my first post. I agree that Saturday will be a sterner test. COYR! Meantime of course to put everything into perspective tomorrow we honour Super Kev.

My understanding is that from this season we now only include spectators physically in the ground. Not sure what others clubs do, but would assume it needs to be consistent. The difference here is that last season we included all ST holders regardless of whether they attended games.

Matt I hope that's true. Several times this season I've not been able to relate the crowd I stand in to the declared total! Also we ran a guess the crowd thread for our first game THIS season against Kettering when the total was known I mentioned.that this would include all ST holders no forum member or club official disputed this That's why I believed we were still doing it Thanks for your time sorting it

Well the crowd on Tuesday was sparse so 375 sounds right in terms of actual bodies in the ground. Shame it was so low and I know it was cold but that’s around 40% off our average! Aside from a winning/top of the table team what else can be done to attract new fans? I wonder what the club has planned for next season... maybe our new Chairperson can confirm ?

Maybe attendances on freezing cold Tuesday nights in January/February aren't worth worrying about, especially after a few dodgy results.

Some people have been working for years to encourage crowds to watch the club, there's only so much that can be done.

Unfortunately there will always be supporters who can't make a game for one reason or another.

It's any ones guess about the lower attendance of 375 compared to the attendances of the Kings Langley (450) and Dorchester (436) games.

It could be down to cost with us having quite a few home games of late and of course the cold weather will always stop some of the 'fair weather' merchants from attending.

The gates depend largely on two things The level at which a team plays and the degree of success its having at that level Look at the gates we were getting in Conference days Our current average gate is about 0.5 of 1% of the Borough population a reflection of the depths to which we sank and our slow crawl back There is massive scope for improvement but must be success led

I don't disagree too much with you and Sue. People can be too quick to get on the team's back.

But in this case, it could just be the case that the performance could be summed up by the early posts without without any controversy or anything else to add!
