Kings Langley H. 30th Jan

So Kings Langley draw at Kettering, draw at Kings Lynm and some think it should be a certain three points for us!

There are no certain points in any game

Think KL fought well and to be fair to Nathan don't think it was a penalty looked more like his chest but that's football without VAR x

I didn't see much of a protest from Nathan at the time so think it was the arm tbh.

Thought our second half performance was poor,a few players looked tired maybe Saturdays game took it out of them. But KL were a tough outfit they will upset a few teams again this season hopefully our rivals.

Regarding the penalty - I was sitting at the north end of the west stand with a clear view - and definitely handball. Kings Langley deserved the draw and we go again. COYR! Just been talking to my brother-in-law Bill who supports Hereford about the moanie-groanies on their forum who are saying Peter Beadle should go after their first away league defeat in 2 and half years. Unbelievable!

Instead of talking up the opposition here's something we should be discussing Since kick-off back at the start is August we've lost a total of 21 points Since the 9th of December until last night we've lost 11 more than 50%! That can't all be because opponents are suddenly playing better?

Sue's right.

Regardless of league position, stats etc no game is a given and you can see why Kings Langley beat Stratford and got the draws against Kettering and Kings Lynn.

They have recruited some useful players and their form is on the up.

You can say that about any side from any level, giving them due respect and all that old guff but the fact is Slough are a far better outfit than Kings Langley and really at this current time should be beating teams like them, if we want promotion.

It was never going to be easy to break them down, as they were adept at defending in large numbers and at times had eleven players in their own half !

They had also done their homwork on our wing play but up until their penalty, Slough had been by far the better team but we had only taken the one chance, which is never enough as you're always likely to give a way back to the opposition, which sods law we did !

Slough needed a second goal but laboured to get one.

To this ends, I thought they were a limited team that outsmarted us on the night.

I thought we should of gone 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 ten minutes into the second half, as it was obvious that they were stifling our wing play and had worked us out.

I thought Bakes and Unders got the substitutions spot on but could have done them all a lot earlier. I was surprised Gavin James wasn't in the starting eleven, given his goals with Met Police and that surely he wants to make up for lost ground back at Slough. With how the game panned out, think he still should have done.

Manny is such a good impact sub,the best we have.Unfair not to give him full games but I thought Gav and Ben should have started from the off last night.

Last knockings we had resorted back to predictable long balls into the box with no one there to head them, as we became ragged and had lost ideas on how to get in behind them.

Why do we do this, when we are panicking to get a goal back?

There was a particular corner for instance, which looked brilliant for a short pass to be played to the near side of the penalty area/edge of box, where we could have placed a player to hit a low strike toward goal,as there was acres of space opened up , so anything could happen ie richochet, a straight goal, a tangle of legs, a pass, whatever but what do we do, we play the percentage game yet again and deliver the lofted ball that just got cleared.

We need to mix up our play, like we did at the start of the seaon when you never knew where our goals would come from.

The reason Kings Langley got a draw last night with us, was not because they are such a good team, it was because Slough didn't have the nous to beat them.

No one is saying KL are such a good team.

The point is they have recruited a few decent players and their recent results have shown this. On the night KL probably played to their optimum and we were way short of our best.

Good honest assessment by Neil on the Slough website about the game. Nice to know that the our managers weren't happy with how we played either.

A point away at Tiverton will be far easier to accept, than a point at home to Kings Langley.

3 points away at Tiverton will be a cracking result

Let's hope our team gets it's mojo back on Saturday.

First concern is the game actually going ahead as that’ll be a right arse of a midweek journey.

Will there be an early pitch inspection seeing as team and supporters coaches will be leaving early, dont want another Biggleswade fiasco.
