Talking of Concord

BOROMAN

Recommended Posts

I heard a rumour a couple of weeks back that if Canvey win the Ryman League early (which looks likley), they will loan out some of their players to Concord to help them push for the title.

I understand from past experience this does not break any rules. Although the extent to which it can be used may be a little worrying. I know during our previous stay in the ESL some teams used have their normal team on a Saturday, and a Ryman premier teams squad players in midweek.

Therefore what should have been an easy win on paper, turned out to be a very tough fixture. Not sure if that is "playing the game"

I think SOS you are referring to the use of the Collier Row ground by romford a few years ago. It was not acquired by Romford, nor did they own it, otherwise the landlord couldn't have have asked them to leave. It's all consigned to the history books now, but |I think I see what you were getting at.

cleggy, i think you'll find Concords Record against Enfield Town is good because like Enfield Town they have been one of the top teams in the ESL over the past two and a half seasons.

Now i suppose you are suggesting that they field a team of Ryman Premier players just to play the town.

Maybe it is simply because you are no better than Concord.

I think that the Town have only beaten Concord once, which speaks volumes for their strength.

The only problem with them seems to be the consistancy needed to win the league, something they may well have got right, we shall see.

fair comment. Last season i remember Concord putting a great set of results together after a bad start. The haven't shown that form, but are proving a difficult team to beat. Winning or drawing games when they should of possibly lost definately sounds like a team with a great chance of improving on their placings of 4th & 2nd in the last two seasons.

I remember last season when a concord official had to look at his notes to know the names of a couple of their players as he could not work who they were when they were in front of him.

Sorry

I was not singling Concord out, if the rules allow then good luck to them. My point really is for anyteam that bring in loan players/dual sign on players from a higher league.

Should there be some groundrules/limits set so it can't be abused.
