I thought it was April the first when I saw the teamsheet Hope and Thomas paying upfront... I bet my nephew a fiver we wouldn't score and he paid up at half time....what on earth was he thinking... end result not a worthwhile shot all game... sorry Andy my support for you has now ended if you honestly think we were going to score goals with that line up I doubt you ability to do the job... you were absolutely right 4WF I shouldn't have doubted your experienced analysis

The club announced that there were 270 there tonight, in my realistic opinion, there was 170 tops. We were awful for 90 minutes. Aaron Greene and Joe Wright came out of the game with some credit but the rest of the team, in my opinion, weren't playing for the manager. Behind the goal, the small crowd was silent for most of the game and at the final whistle, just left ! The AGM is going to be really interesting !

Gentlemen I am sometimes prone to talking the occasional bit of b/s but just sometimes it is nice to listen to experts in the art.

Please carry on !!

Hasn't been one of my best days. Reading the result tonight did help much either. But to get away from me feeling sorry for myself I have read the comments so far written on to nights game. Also felt I needed to reply to THeo.

Thank you Thoe you are being very gracious. I have said many times a lot of my opinions are based on what I was told, at the very beginning of the season by people I respect, of all ages, around the non league fraternity. Plus my own playing experience. The game hasn't change only peoples perceptions. It still simple, he who retains the ball invariably wins at any level. To achieve this you don't need outstanding players in all positions but mangers who teach this approach and players with the ability to execute this principal.

I really hope that members are able to agree a format at the AGM which helps the club move forward. I feel that AL may have to consider parting with some players to which he has shown loyalty. I know this is easier said than done and will be hard for him. I also feel he should seek a new young coach to assist him. His approach and that of DP to the game are dated and new ideas are needed. Whether he is willing to knowledge this will say a lot  about his type of management.

I will look forward to reading a summary of the AGM with the hope that  matters discussed and be resolved for the benefit of the club as a whole.

Hope to still contribute from time to time.

Words fail me. This was pathetic, we had no shape, players can’t hold on to the ball, can’t pass to each other etc... It’s getting worse. No cutting edge, we look like we don’t care, players seem to not know each other and certainly don’t know what their ream-mates want, where they want the ball etc... I can’t see any evidence of tactical shape or philosophy, we look like we are making it up as we go. I really can’t see where the next 3 points is coming from. Burgess Hill will be interesting, two poor teams against each other and we must win this otherwise I fear the worst for the rest of the season.

Most of the supporters behind the goal came expecting very little and by god we got even less ! Something seriously needs changing !

Just for the record and despite the abysmal team performance, a few of us did clap the remainder of the team that had the decency to applause us too. Ryan Blackman in particular took the time to talk to us. Some of the people on this forum are happy to hide behind their pseudonyms and when those of us who ‘step out of line’ and then offer apologies for their rare indiscretions receive no acknowledgement! I travel a lot, not as much as I would like, to watch our team, OUR club , but some people leave a lot to be desired in their humility.

My recollections of previous agms, and I have not been to all of them, is that the team as a whole were if not on the crest of a wave were going through a purple patch at the time of the meeting.

This is the first AGM that I can recall that I have really wanted to go as I want the manager to justify his tactics and team selection. I want to hear his plans for the future and above all I want him to justify the teams current situation as there seems to be no shape or direction.

We seemed to be doing all right at the start of the season if not rising to new heights but in a "comfortable" position. It is my view that teams we have played have developed a style of play and sought players to fit that style as the season continued and we have not bothered. Look at the teams that are now climbing up the table, Worthing, Brightlingsea and Kingstonian. These teams were struggling early on but now have hit a bit of form, Brightlingsea's change of form seemed to coincide with when they played us. I believe that the managers of these teams saw the way the league played and adapted to match. We have not improved over the season but now seem to be back pedaling very quickly.

I agree steph.

Last year with Brad we were on a crest of a wave so it was almost a party atmosphere when brad took to the floor.

This year very much different worse football witnessed for some time players that are sadly just not good enough and a manager that doesnt adhere himself to the fans.

I think the board are in for a rocky ride tin hats at the ready guys.

I think members will be told the following:

The manager took up the position knowing that most players had left.

That a team was assembled in a short period of time.

That the manager has lots of contacts.

We don't have a large budget.

The team is a 'work in progress'.

Looking forward to next season.

No one set a place in the play offs as an objective.

It's information we have heard time and again over the months and I wouldn't expect anything new to be revealed.
