The situation with Steve was discussed at recent trust EGM and AGM last year. Steve has set the club up to be self sufficient and it has been so since not long after he took over. He doesn't put any money into the club. This means that any money the club earns belongs to the club and will help to cover all costs.

ARAAS I understood and the club website confirms that Thames Valley Sport and Leisure owns Slough Town FC Steve has a significant interest ie at least 75% of the shares in this company so he controls it Surely he owns the assets of STFC ?

Steve wants the club to be self sufficient and it has been run successfully as such for most of his time, so I can't imagine it really matters that it's his name as the owner. The money belongs to the club.

And Glen - if you make the effort to speak to Rob Anderson, he answers questions about Arbour Park. I did and he said that the size of the very large screen TVs (quote "80 inches") going at each end of the bar area mean that the walls need strengthening before they can be put up.

Must admit that I'm surprised to hear that we've been self-sufficient since the early day's of Steve's tenure at Beaconsfield but nevertheless it good to hear and know this.

Also good to know that the money from our cup runs is the club's to spend a we so wish.

RR as above comments and your other posts

I assume Steve as the chairman of STFC along with his Steering Group agree a budget with the managers. However, the Chairman, whoever that is must have the final say.We are fortunate that we have a reasonably large fan base compared to many of the other clubs in our division and also a very active supporters trust. This enables the club to have some flexibility in the budget they can set.

I would much rather that the club was managed efficiently and "lived within its means" rather than the shit or bust we have seen from various other clubs at our level. The club are looking long term and not short term.

I also believe we should be thankful that we have a football management team that has been able to bring players to this club of such a high calibre over the last few years without having to promise them the earth and putting us into financial difficulties.

As we progress up the pyramid fund raising will become more and more important and we will need to widen the scope and contacts to keep  growing the cash stream.

Finally we seem to have deviated from the initial subject and this thread and maybe if others wish to comment a new thread should be set up.
