Hereford Game Segregated. Maybe Not?

Think it's pretty irrelevant how many Hereford bring . It's great to have a decent away support makes for a fun day. As a couple have said this is a big game but still only 3 points at stake . Nothing decided by this result .

Whatever the result Hereford will have reached half way point of the season with a great record and remain red hot favourites. Lost least games , best defence best attack !

I always thought they would steamroller this league and think they will only get stronger despite a tough programme.

As for us we are actually 2 points worse off after 20 games than last season but our next 9 games were dreadful yielding only 12 points so we have an opportunity to improve on last year.

Let's enjoy Saturday whatever the result.

Not sure how irrelevant the 700 Hereford supporters will be. I'm sure with the noise they will make it will sound like 1000+ and could give the Hereford players that extra man boost to their performance.

It is only 3 points and nothing will be decided by the result but in the grand scheme of things the outcome will be pretty significant to our chances of either winning the league or making the play-offs.

No the result is very important! If we lose I think it’ll be very difficult to claim top spot. Hereford are one of 4 main rivals for promotion this season and if they beat us they’ll be 12 points ahead and even if we win our 2 in hand it’s still 6 points to make up on a side with a massive squad, budget and support, that’s asking a lot especially as the next 2 months we’ll be playing on some crappy pitches plus possible postponements (yes I know the others may experience the same!). I just feel we have to not lose to keep pace.

As 3Spirit said in an earlier post can we please stop talking about the opposition I am not interested in hearing what they might or will do who cares.

Let's be more Optimistic have Confidence and be more Positive in our Management and Squad in getting a Result.

What happens in four plus months happens nothing will be decided on Saturday.

SD you do realise this is a football forum where supporters discuss not only there own team but also the opposition weaknesses and strengths.

Unless of course you live in a self contained bubble where no other team exists except your own.

Your talking more about the opposition than the team you support.

SD, we talk about the Rebels nearly every day of the week so I don't see a problem talking about the opposition leading up to such a big game, especially due to the unusual nature of the game i.e. Ticket only, segregation etc.

With Herefords record at Merythr, Didcot etc. segregation is a must.

Why else do they have police at all of their home games? - only club in this league to need police - there is a message there!

Don't think so. Merthyr as previously stated was due to all fans being let out at the same time, with very few exits and a large crowd, some things are bound to happen. Didcot... think you will find that the problems was caused by one person from Hereford (?) and their players (three, yes three of their players were at court) The problem with teams in this league, they are not  generally  used to such a large away following... if Slough have any sense they will ask HFC to bring some of their stewards along to the game...O and we always have at least one local police officer to try and spot the one or two idiots that do follow the club and cause trouble. Please note that I said follow, and not support the club.

May the best team win....and everyone has an enjoyable day.

Ok I am going to have to say this, but don’t expect the same level of football played home to be the same away.... you are able to play nice attractive football at home on the 3G, and will be able to all season in reality, away games especially at this stage of the year and heading to the end of the season when pitches are hard and bobbly, it requires a completely different way of playing.

This is what we have to adapt to, but these games are in the whole battles, with a lot more of the ball in the air, trying to get in good areas.

It would be different if we were playing on billiard tables all season, but that is just not the case.

We were doing our passing drill pre Chesham game same as what we do every week in the warm up, and at home the ball moves so fast and rarely is not under control, fast forward to Chesham, and people are struggling to keep it moving fluently unopposed as the pitch dictates that.

Obviously that will not be the case for every game, but the vast majority.

So maybe readjust your views on what is a good performance away from home to what we get at Arbour Park.

We were one minute away from a perfect away win Monday, going away from home is about being tighter, and trying to keep clean sheets.

Neil, no fan with any sense expects our team to play as good a football on winter grass pitches,as can be played in winter on 3G.

That said, though, we shouldn't keep using it as an excuse, when results don't go the way we want.

At Chesham regardless of the pitch, our team didn't do enough to win the game IMO, however, I do think Slough were the better side out of the two teams over the 90 odd minutes but as usual, Chesham had the luck on their side.

Whatever, it seems like two points dropped.

Just don't buy this. We could play Maidenhead, in an FA Trophy or FA Cup tie, with a big crowd and lots riding on the game, let everyone out at once and I don't think there would anything more than light hearted banter and a few handshakes. "Some things are bound to happen" is code for accepting that people don't behave reasonably. We may be a "tinpot" team in a "tinpot" league (yep we read your forum too) but we have already had a capacity crowd at Arbour Park and bigger crowds in our Conference days and the only time there has been serious trouble was when Millwall came and we beat them - enough said!

I agree with you on one thing - the hope that everyone has an enjoyable game; I'll settle for a lucky Slough win though if we don't outplay you. ;)

They have played 2 more games than us to score 1 more goal than us.

You get troublemakers and mindless idiots everywhere.

Just last Saturday, a moron supposedly supporting Chesham gave out a load of verbal about Slough, as fans were leaving their ground going home, which could have easily incited trouble.

It certainly wasn't done as good natured banter and this dimwit was old enough to know better but no football club up and down the land, can legislate for the brain dead ! ha ha NOT.

If it's only the odd one or two why would we need HFC stewards at the game?

Before anyone jumps down my neck and tells me ths is a forum I know, but don't you think we have given Hereford enough air time about some of their problem supporters. I'm hoping people won't get put off coming because of them I know as a mum I might think twice.

Lets get back to talking about our team who on their day can beat anybody !!
