Hereford Game Segregated. Maybe Not?

Hereford have a number of "supporters" subject to banning orders from their games and their online systems. These are mostly the lowlifes who have given them a bad name regarding abuse and violent behaviour and I've no doubt that some will attempt to buy tickets through our site I note we say that I/D will be required on collection I hope we mean I/D with address or we risk allowing some undesirables to attend.

Given they sold just 200 so quickly I think it’s safe assume they’d sell 1,000 in total comfortably. But we can’t have a situation where there’s more away support than home for such an important fixture. If we were mid table with nothing to play for then you could understand they’d be given more. Plus I’m sure all plans are in place now so even if we could give them more the club would have to reassess all arrangements. Saying this I’ve not bought my ticket yet but I’m definitely going! Just not done it yet as i know there’s no fear of not getting one. Maybe/hopefully others are thinking the same.

ID’s can be faked! There’s only so much a club can do especially at our level. I’m sure there will be some police in or around the ground plus more stewards. Although you would hope the segregation is better/stronger than some tape deployed for the Rochdale game??!!

OK back to the football and Neil is correct to point out the special importance of this game Hereford and Slough have lost fewer points all season than all other teams including those temporarily above us At kick off on the 6th we will have lost 17 Hereford 14 A win makes it 17/17 a defeat 20/14 in Herefords favour It's that important Especially since our next 6 games don't include any teams higher than the halfway mark in the league A win on the 6th will really kick start our assault on the championship imo

Hereford have an enormous amount of travelling to do this month. Their next six matches are all away (this includes Wealdstone in the FA Trophy). Of their next nine games, eight are away, and this includes Slough and King's Lynn. They will certainly have to use their huge squad and it will certainly tell us a lot about their title aspirations. If they continue to rack up the wins away from home, we'll have to hold our hands up and say they deserve to be labelled as favourites for the title.

Matt, I couldn't care less about Hereford's title aspirations. The only thing that matters to me is what Slough Town FC aspire to do.

In truth I get fed up hearing about what Hereford are doing. To me it's overhyping how good they are, as they haven't achieved anything in this division yet.

The fact that we've beaten them away, means we should have no fear about doing the double over them and getting the win at home.

Won't be a formality or easy but if all of our players get up for the game and play to their best, I think we have a great opportunity to turn them over. We have as much talent as they have.

One thing is certain, though, we will have to play a lot better than we did against Chesham to do it

Yes, we beat Hereford 1-0 nil at their place but it has to be said that they have continued to spend money to improve their squad and are probably a better side now than earlier in the season.

As you say, I think we have as much talent in our squad as they have and if we play to our ability we have a great chance to get a result.

The Chesham game on that surface was always going be tough so I wouldn't be too concerned about that particular performance.

Ok I am going to have to say this, but don’t expect the same level of football played home to be the same away.... you are able to play nice attractive football at home on the 3G, and will be able to all season in reality, away games especially at this stage of the year and heading to the end of the season when pitches are hard and bobbly, it requires a completely different way of playing.

This is what we have to adapt to, but these games are in the whole battles, with a lot more of the ball in the air, trying to get in good areas.

It would be different if we were playing on billiard tables all season, but that is just not the case.

We were doing our passing drill pre Chesham game same as what we do every week in the warm up, and at home the ball moves so fast and rarely is not under control, fast forward to Chesham, and people are struggling to keep it moving fluently unopposed as the pitch dictates that.

Obviously that will not be the case for every game, but the vast majority.

So maybe readjust your views on what is a good performance away from home to what we get at Arbour Park.

We were one minute away from a perfect away win Monday, going away from home is about being tighter, and trying to keep clean sheets.

Neil You've summed that up very succinctly At the end of the season when every team has played all the others twice on all the varying pitches and right across the weather spectrum the team who has done it best will be champions Now you and Jon have the difficult bit Making sure that it's the Rebels!!

Is there any word on Jack Turners current condition?

On the Hereford forum, they are calling us a tinpot club in a tinpot league because they cannot get any more tickets , let's hope the managers quote this in there pre match teamtalk .seems they are far too big for this league, be great to put one over them

There’s many of their fans across social media (whether they’re serious or just on a wind up) who constantly state they’re too good and big for this league and obviously still believe their rightful place is league football. They have no respect at all and I’m sure (hope!) it’s only a small proportion of their support of think this way. Saying that with what they have at their disposal they should be at least a Conference National club. But nothing will please me more to not only beat them Saturday but do the double over them (plus end their long unbeaten away record) and shut up the many idiots previously mentioned, amazing how quiet it will be if that happens!

Matt Yes and 4 of the upcoming Hereford away games are midweek away games!! So as you say very difficult for them. Can you imagine Spencer Day talking about a similar run for his club? They would have to put him in a straightjacket before the interview began!!
