Hereford Game Segregated. Maybe Not?

There is a question on the Hereford fans forum asking if a greater allowance of tickets is possible for the 6th January game since 600 wouldn't be enough The first reply is a direct link to our online ticket sales page saying "plenty here" I presume we can circumvent any abuses I.e. proof of home address for collected tickets etc

I'm sure the people at the club who decided to sell the remaining tickets online took into account all of the issues that could arise by doing so, and will therefore have all of the necessary extra precautions in place for any away fans in the home section of the stadium, especially those fans that Hereford will have banned from buying tickets from them.

Having heard about some problems after their game with Merthyr, having this game all ticket was certainly a wise move to try to detract the un-savoury element in their support.

RR There were some fist fights some handbags and a four year old boy was taken to hospital after being trampled after the Merthyr game The police have blamed this trouble on the decision to allow both sets of supporters to leave the ground at the same time and via the same egresses I'm sure we've got that covered!

Although I doubt they’d sell or need more than 600, what measures are in place to stop Hereford fans buying tickets in the home end? Surely anyone can buy tickets via Slough’s online club shop website, even if you put in a Hereford address would that actually stop the tickets being posted to you? Even then you can get them posted to any friends/work/family address. I know we’re part time and don’t have the resources I’m just naturally concerned for all of how easy it could be for an element of away fans to be in the home areas.

With Herefords record at Merythr, Didcot etc. segregation is a must.

 

Why else do they have police at all of their home games? - only club in this league to need police - there is a message there!

Merthyr had police officers in attendance for their game with Hereford Not called to an incident but there as a precaution Seems a sensible thing to do imo

We had Hereford at Chesham last week with no issues at all. 200/250 of them turned up, as with most fans they'll respond when provoked (Didcot it was Oxford Utd fans who they have a history with).

 

Really nice group of fans, who will make a lot of noise.

There are many posts on the Merthyr social Media more or less confirming what you are saying regarding your match with Hereford Their supporters in the main were well behaved any interested in the game but a small minority who had been drinking all game were intent on causing trouble Hereford do seem to have a small group of troublemakers who follow them wherever.

Please note an important correction to earlier communications. Tickets will be available TOMORROW (Saturday 30 December) morning at Arbour Park from 10:00-11:00, and also at the Chesham match on Monday 1 January. Tickets will NOT be sold on the morning of Saturday 6 January.

They’ve sold 400 of the 600 with the remaining going on general sale tomorrow which I’d expect them to sell. Hopefully we can sell 800-900 to give a decent attendance/atmosphere.

According to their website the 200 tickets being sold from tomorrow are online sales only and to be collected from Arbour Park ? Is this our understanding?

No it states the following:

 

“Tickets ordered online can be collected from Edgar Street on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday this week, or from outside the Away Turnstiles at Slough on the day of the game.”

I read the Bulls News page which doesn't mention anything other than collection at Slough Thanks for clearing that up

Sometimes people go a bit overboard about the Hereford away fans.    There was only 34(total) more at Chesham than we had with them yesterday (520).  They could of been Chesham Supporters.

 

A few of there away numbers Royston 512, Frome 531, Tiverton 620,  even Kettering was 909 Top of table at the time.

But saying that they DO take more than most of the teams.

But there are bringing a minimum of 400 on Saturday, fully expect 500-600 which is impressive and will be the most they’ve taken away in a league game so far. Just hope us Slough fans can come out in force and create a decent atmosphere.

In reality we should for what is a really high profile game, however at present I know ticket sales have not been as strong as we would like, obviously we do have a high number of season ticket holders, so hope that they come out in force also:

I would just urge you to encourage as many people as possible to get tickets and to the game.

Surely we must get at least 650 home fans (our average). Anything less would be very disappointing and wouldn’t make any sense.

Hereford confirming on their twitterfeed that all 200 online tickets sold out quickly today so 600 sold by them and could have sold more
