Weymouth game.

I don’t believe 3G has any negative impact on injuries and not aware of any research that says otherwise.

Injuries are part and parcel of football and you have spells where you don’t get any and spells where you have plenty. It is what it is and we’ll get on with it!

Thanks for the reply,Jon.

It's just a bummer when we get such good players at the club like Brad Wadkins and Alan Inns, and yet they have missed as many games as they have played.

It's frustrating for me, God knows how you and Neil feel.

It's a comfort that we are still coping and winning without them but it would be great if we can get them back sooner rather than later, so we go into winter with good options.

I’m really looking forward to us being back in League action today.

The feeling I get is that we are continually improving as the season progresses, and that despite the injuries we have that we will win today..... (the bookies have us odds on at 5/6 and Weymouth at 5/2, they have also moved us up to favourites to win the league at 7/2).

I’m also convinced over our next four matches, Weymouth, Banbury, Redditch and Hendon, that we will see some of our best team performances of the season as every player that walks on the pitch for us will be looking to establish themselves in the starting eleven for the Rochdale match.

There was some evidence from NFL studies on old style astroturf that knee injuries caused by twisting when your foot did not move were exacerbated but 3G pitches are very different - much more give, better footwear for them etc.

As several have said great to be back in league action thought Jon and Neil's statements - one in the local press, one on the website have set exactly the right tone, the league is the main priority, lets not be complacent etc. I'd love to see us win today, last year's Weymouth game, which I couldn't get to, by all accounts was one of our best performances of the season - it would be wonderful to follow it up this season. Thought Weymouth tried to play football but we were absolutely disciplined in keeping our shape right through the team we gave them no outlet. Kept the ball moving all over the park and looked in control and patient . 3pts , tickets for Rochdale and not that wet! Good day all round .

Interesting and comendable, I guess, that Weymouth continued to try and build from the back and didn't ditch their beliefs when chasing the game. If they had made the most of the couple of openings they had a 2-0 it could have set up an uncomfortable last quarter of the game.

AND if we had taken our chances it would of been more than 3.

As a self confessed part timer and therefore not 'real fan' I'm going to make the most of a rare trip to Arbour Park and comment on the match.

Jon and Neil - You have built a fantastic side. Solid at the back, composure on the ball, confident in individual and collective ability. Certainly among the best Slough Town teams i've seen.

In terms of the match itself, refreshing to see two sides who wanted to play football. Weymouth may think what might have been had Togwell not cleared off the line, or that long range effort crept under the crossbar instead of rattling the woodwork. But I don't think they will have too many complaints about the result.

George Wells as MOM was a decision I agreed with. His work rate and intensity was top drawer, even closing down defenders and the goalkeeper at one point in the second half. His goal set us on the way after an earlier speculative effort that really should have warned Weymouth of what was to come.

The whole team played well, but I would have said Dunne came a close second behind Wells.

A big thanks to Lee Hunter for entertaining my lad before the match for his mascot experience. He was also thrilled to get his photo with Matt Lench.

I'll post another message later regarding the Frame Football collection..... Lots of very generous people there today, stopping in the pouring rain to chip in.

Thoroughly enjoyable match, with some sublime passing football from the Rebels. That and the ticket, made the trip up from an equally wet Cheltenham more than worthwhile. Watching Slough play over the last 30 odd years has always been a pleasure, but some of the football this season has been among the best I've seen.
