Banbury next Tuesday (21st Nov)

Keep an eye out for news from Banbury. Their FA Trophy replay against Farnborough tonight was postponed when several of the visitors' players failed to arrive, citing 'traffic problems'. If the FA decides that the game must be played, it'll almost certainly be next Tuesday.

Looking at the map why on earth have they gone up the M1 to get to Banbury?

Players were apparently travelling by car from various locations, presumably some from near the M1. The delays were so bad and roads so choked as drivers tried to get from the M1 to the A41 and the M40 that even Chesham's game at Dunstable was delayed.

However, Farnborough have been struggling to get 12 or 13 'proper' first-teamers out. They didn't use any of their five very young subs on Saturday...

Farnborough also have a league game on Tuesday. Given the delay in making a decision, the FA is perhaps minded either to chuck them out or order the game to be played next Saturday. That way no more league fixtures have to be postponed by either club – and they were due to meet in the league on that day anyway, so only one fixture would have gone even if the tie had already been settled.

Yeah they’ve won 2, drawn 2 and lost 5 of their home league games. But it’ll still be a tough game especially as it’s away midweek plus our threadbare squad/injury concerns. But we’re playing with such confidence that makes me think we can get 3 points there as long as it’s not postponed for any reason...

I'm with you there Glen  :o

Regardless of Banbury's home form there are factors that indicate that this game will be a very stern test.

It's a Tuesday night away game and as far as we know we still only have one fit striker. If I remember rightly Banbury's pitch is not the best and our recent away record against them in the league is played 2 lost 2.

We are playing well and have nothing to fear but for me we need to get the striker situation sorted asap.
