FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round - Hendon v Slough Town

After his headed goal the other day I thought about that. Although I think with our link up play I would fancy seeing him playing a lone striker role where we keep the ball glued to the floor with 5 midfielders. A bit like when Clive Allen scored 49 goals for Spurs the season Pleat put in the revolutionary idea ( for England in those days ) of keeping the ball down and passing through the opposition till you gave your striker a chance to run at them and shoot!

Probably we will just play Lench and Harris up front with Webb on the right.

Actually Tom Biss put in a real shift in the game at Hayes . If needed he would not be lacking in effort if we wanted someone to lead the line and protect the others.

No there is not an under 18s currently, mainly because of the usage issues we have at Arbour Park, that is not to say that there won’t be in the future.

We would not have been able to add anyone for tonight’s fixture that was not already signed on before midday last Friday also Mark.

Very tough, as the gap between under 18 football, and the level we are at now is such a big gulf, anyone that has any substance about them these days will be out playing CCL or Hellenic football, earning a few quid, therefore the old days of bringing a player through from under 14s to senior football are few and far between.

And with the rules put in place by the FA regards to academies and their category, it has meant lots of sides have just scrapped their youth schemes, because they end up being a drain, as any decent player can still move on for next to nothing.

Wycombe are a good example in that they scrapped their youth scheme about 3 years ago, for these reasons exactly.

Que sera sera .

Sport is all about handling pressure. The more you practice the better you are at decision making under pressure. The more successful you are the greater the pressure .

Whilst it would be great to win tonight , our injuries and the FA cup run mean this game is not as crucial as it might have been . So the players tonight can relax use their brains and know that the result tonight will be short lived win or lose.

On Saturday we only had one fit striker and other concerns , we played well second half but no where near what we know we are capable of. After the game Hendon fans were waxing lyrical about how we were the best team they had seen this season by miles.

Our top scorer is available as is our double hat-trick hero . Whose shoes would you rather be in tonight?

In the news article about ticket sales tonight it said the exact location would be confirmed nearer the time. Have I missed this info someone or are we not near enough to the time yet?

Likely to be from one of the gazebos near Turnstile 4.

Not really sure what I expect tonight Obviously I want a Rebel win but will players whose next game is the second most important game they have played so far with live TV coverage really give it everything? Will they go for every 50/50 and risk the strain/sprain or worse that will put them out of Mondays game I'd like to think so but let's see.
