v Hayes and Yeading (league cup)

We could well find ourselves 6th or 7th by first week of December having played at least 4 games less and in some cases 5 or 6 less than everyone else. Perhaps we should all agree not to look at the table till February.

If ever the cliche 'take one game at a time ' was apt, this is it. As long as we win ( or draw ) when we do play then we do our job.

Another huge game on Saturday , Weymouth now above us and on a roll. Games in hand actually take the pressure off us in this one and a draw would be an acceptable result.

Whilst those ahead of us may pull clear despite our games in hand it is important to remember a gap is starting to form between 5th and 6th. Tiverton in 6th are 2 points behind us but having played 4 games more.

I know we are trying to aim for first place and automatic promotion but we are still in great shape to secure a minimum of a play off place.

Yes much depends on the fitness and availability of players against Weymouth Weymouth and Hereford are the only teams in the league who have won as many away games as they have home games and they are the second highest scorers(partly due to the number of games played) but conversely 10 clubs have better defences We haven't lost in our last six games They've lost twice in their last six and we have home advantage on our splendid pitch All things being equal we should edge this one but with our other priorities I will hope for a win and be satisfied with a draw.

I do hate the term 'real fans'. It's a misnomer. I went to Methyr in our first season in the Vauxhall Conference. Once is enough ! ha ha !

Fans should do what they want to do. It isn't compulsory to watch Slough Town or any sporting club in the land.

You do it because it becomes a pleasure and also an escape from our humdrum life, which in turn becomes a habit that hooks you in because of the affinity you get to the team you watch, the comaderie/laughter you get with the people you watch with and the friendships you make with other Slough fans and possibly players, managers and staff.

You may be able to categorise fans by what they do for the club but the label 'real fan' is baloney to me.

I think we all go to as many games as we can ( I certainly do!). But i am sure most people on here do have other priorities as well.

For example, I work in London so even getting back for a home midweek game can be  a challenge unless i can get out at a decent time.

The only thing i find a bit bizarre on here is people commenting on games they have not attended.

OK I'll put a stop to this,

I've been to every league home game since 1982/3 season. (only mist that season because of playing for the reserves) other wise it would of been right back to 78/79 season.

Been to all away games (except  Hitchin away 2 seasons ago sons wedding) since 08/09

Been to EVERY game (league, cup, friendly, excluding the Hitchin game) since Steve Batman took over from Derek Sweetman.

SO IF YOU CAN BEAT THAT THEN POST. (STOPPED)

B-----ks, real fans go to Mertyr on a cold Tuesday night and wear their T shirt to annoy those that did not attend the game lol

Firstly I dislike the adjective "real" as in "real cream", "real ale" etc. The emphasise should be on the

pretend stuff which should be labelled "unauthentic". Well done Epic on your attendance record however

not everyone is in the position to attend every game for various reasons. The only game that I have missed

this season including all the PSF was the Merthyr game. To get there I would have had to drive down and ol'

codger that I am I had severe gout in my left knee which precluded this. When I was working I was involved in anumber of contracts up in the north west (Bolton, Southport, Fleetwood) so during that period I missed most

midweek games and quite a number of Saturday games due to operational requirements. However I remained and

still remain a devoted Rebels supporter. In the Conference days during Alan Thorne's Chairmanship he asked me to represent him in some of the games up t'northwest such as Southport, Altrinham etc. There are also long

distance supporters who can't make every game and supporters who cannot afford for instance to travel to all

the matches. This does not lessen their support for the club. COYR!
