Rip Off Ilford

Recommended Posts

i only bought programmes for a few of the away games in our first season but the only info they have on us is the club history and player pen pics which we provide and is the same every time.I dont buy raffle tickets either because you very rarely hear the results or even see them displayed at any ground,we are not perfect there as well 50/50 given once and not always when the towners are are at the terrace end. They could be written up at half time like the line-ups are now before games.

In Romford's defence I can only think that £3 for an under 16 was charged for a home cup match.

Wrong my friend. Romford charged U16s £3 when Enfield played there in the ESL earlier this season. Most ESL clubs charge £1 or admit U16s free. I don't understand Romford's insistence on U16s having a season ticket to gain free admission? What about away supporters?

In reply to the numerous comments and complaints. Firstly I have never heard of anyone being abused by our gateman, and anyone who knows him would be equally amused as he is a very timid person, he has done the gate for 3 years and I am not aware of any complaints. I accept that the Romford admission prices are probably the highest in the ESL at £5 and £3. This goes back to our Ryman days. Apart from Enfield our home crowds are made up of 99.9% home supporters, who are willing to pay the admission prices. Clubs are allowed to set there own prices with no maximum. We do operate a season ticket scheme for under 16's and it is free. Primarily it is obviously for our supporters but if someone asked for a free ticket and only used it once then that would be acceptable. There are over 80 junior season ticket holders, all with free season tickets. I am sure our operating costs are higher than anyone else's considering we have no bar revenue, I realise Enfield are in that position that they get 3 times our crowds. I am sure you would all agree our facilities are amongst the best in the league and the ground is suitable for Ryman Premier football.

Finally I am sure we all remember when we started out in the ESL and many clubs put there admission prices up for our visit due to our support. We don't want to rip anyone off, everyones welcome, but hey we have to survive don't we.

ilford is only a rip off because as you keep pointing out we are trying to buy the title. i think that if you had a look at what ilford players get paid you will find your etfc's wage bill is alot more than ilfords. Ilford players only get beer money and not the mega pounds people like clarke get at etfc. Why do u think he left ilford? and its not for the his love of etfc

Sorry it was all made up; I imagined it! Get out of your ivory tower; you wont survive as long as you continue to charge £3 for children; your future fans. Your call but I give only the facts and this has happened twice; both this and last season. But I guess you don't care and hey, carry on

Good luck on the pitch.

You miss my point. Our supporters (under 16) are free season ticket holders. I am sure those that run the club would have listened to both of your complaints, one regarding the abusive gateman and the other about the high price for your child. Did you speak to anyone on the day? There are no ivory towers at Romford. You are basing that statement on two visits, was it the same gateman. Do the facilities at the other clubs compare. At the end of the day at our level entrance fees are donations to keep the club running. I am truly sorry you have not enjoyed your visits to Romford.
