Second Round Draw

Recommended Posts

Just thought i'd pop down some details below...

As i'm sure we are all very aware the draw will be on BBC2 at 7pm on 6th November

Looks pretty likely that we'll get a decent name in the draw! Percentages of league level look like this.

 League 1 35.56% League 2 35.56% National League 11.11% Step 6 8.89% Step 7 8.89%

Any teams that people would particularly like?

Reading Rebel the Coach drivers will be praying for a team down the M4 they might not get lost then.

As on our way to the game we were on our way to Doncaster instead of Gainsborough got to the ground at 2.40pm.

As we had the Team of 76 recently I was on the Coach for the 1st leg at Anfieĺd but the driver went to Goodison Park.

All the fun of an away day.

I agree with Curtis - Oxford City at home would give us a great chance of a treble of victories over level 2 opposition although of course it's on the day that counts not preceding results. I actually dreamt away to Charlton which brought back memories of the Tony Bass last gasp equaliser in the Amateur Cup semifinal before Dagenham went on to win the replay at Craven Cottage on Boat Race day - so no thanks! Anyway what will be will be - fingers crossed! COYR!

Yes decided now! Just want a home draw and for it to be on live tv. The worst draws are any away that’s miles away (Carlisle, Gateshead etc...) OR nearer but still very good teams with poor (relative) support like Boreham Wood, Forest Green Rovers etc...

Yes, I think I'm with you Glen.

Boreham Wood have an average attendance of 796, which is poor for a national league team, with the woodworm supporters only coming out in any sort of numbers for the big teams.

Forest Green have an average attendance of 2,732 which is much better but still near the bottom of Div 2.

Looking at all the crowds for the 1st round, I’ve been surprised none were more than 5,000. So that puts paid to getting decent pay day from an attendance in the next round as the crowds will be very similar. So we need to be home and on tv!

With the prospect of a premier or championship team in the next round I'd expect attendances to increase for round 2 but as you say lets get the money and kudos now with a televised game at home.

Are you an invited guest Reading Rebel?

WR, the mere mortals and the leg-ends like me,will be glued watching the box at home but good luck to all those honourable few that get on live tv. Will be great to people watch.

Not sure what category Reading Rebel is classed as ! ha ha !

Seriously, though, it's great publicity for the club and I think it will be fitting if Steve Easterbrook gets some form of recognition for all he's done for Slough Town FC, in what could be his final year.
