Slough v Kidlington (FA Trophy)

My mate Manny will bang in the goals plus we stil have attacking players like Dobson, Lench and Harris to rely on. I wonder if we’ll play 2 up front or just Manny?

Sometimes it feels we are playing with 10 up front, and that attractive attacking football is what is getting the goals, which is getting results, which is good to watch, which are causing the gates to go up!

Actually our attendances haven’t gone up much at all in comparison to last season.... average of 651 so far, 631 last season. Kings Lynn, Weymouth and Kettering have seen increases of 50%, 45% and 37% this season.

It might because they are all performing better than last season, whereas despite our fantastic form this season it is almost exactly the same in terms of results as the beginning of last season (2016/7 W11 D2 L1 35 points, 2017/8 W11 D1 L2 34 points).

It might also be that our season tickets last season were very heavily discounted in anticipation of moving in to the new stadium, and the big attendance increases came last season, and we have done well to maintain them this season.

I do think the attendances will increase throughout the season though if our good results continue, and even more so if we progress further in the FA Cup and get some decent media coverage.

Started well to go 1 up but then Kidlington came back at us and how they never scored was probably down to Jack Turner in goal the post and crossbar.

Much better from us in the second half capped by a good all round performance from Matt Lench and a well deserved hat-trick.

Some good solid performances but my MOTM was Matt Lench with another classy all round display.

Congratulations to Matt Lench who became the first Slough player this season to score a hat-trick and remain on the pitch for 90 mins (just). If he starts on Saturday he will also become the first to score 3 and play in the next game

Cracking stat!
