Slough v Gosport

I personally think that all teams generally create more atmosphere away. Whether that be down to a feeling of adversity away from home, fans grouping together more, or whatever I'm not sure but you only have to look at gosport last night. Didn't hear a peep from them at their place then they turn up last night in numbers and sing for near on the full 90. Would like to give credit, as many others have already, to those fans but also the gosport team who kept going and didn't capitulate unlike Dunstable earlier in the season. Their keeper made some outstanding saves and the block from number 3 off Dobbos shot was probably the best goalline clearance I've ever seen. Best of luck to them in obviously tough times for the remainder of the season.

I think its the grouping together thats makes the atmosphere. When supporters watch their team at home they are spread out all around the ground, away they are most often in a area reserved for away fans and together they can be very loud. Reading Fc fans are a prime example of this, Not much atmosphere at the Madjeski but pretty loud away.

Yes Will, don't give up Aidan enjoys the singing, and pretty sure Neil,Jon and the players appreciate it x

Don't know why but think we are always better when we are away.

Shall we do poppers at the Gainsborough game like the old days ??? X

I'd stick to the redwine to as I think poppers are no longer legal!

Enjoyable game as we did what we do best and play entertaining football (not the boring Reading pass it back and forth along the back line) and got the goals that that type of football deserves.

However Gosport came and tried to give us a game considering their current fight for survival both on and off the pitch and performed well above their league position.  But it was a game of men v boys literally in some cases.  The defending by them was real blood and guts and they should be commended for that even when they had already conceded 5.

Think the traveling fans made the were best volume and quantity of noise for the number that travelled we have seen this season, and good for them to stick with their team – we have been there and done it with Chris Sliski saying things will get better and how true he was!

Heard the Gosport fans talking at half time and they thought it was the best they had played all season. Raises the issue of whether we have to contend with teams raising their game against us . It's been said in previous seasons and I always thought it sounded a bit arrogant and not based on much evidence but as we are top now, with larger than average crowds , and the new stadium we are definitely not just another game for anyone.

I know it’s crazy but I actually felt quite frustrated at times. I think the problem is we all felt it was a given it’ll be a very comfortable win before a ball was kicked and all the missed opportunities made it a little nervy early on. Shame we couldn’t of got the 8,9 even 10 we deserved as goal difference is proving vital at present and could be the same until the season ends.
