Regarding linesmen and their flaggin waving.

In most of the ESL matches I have seen the lino invariably just waves his flag to agree with the referee.

When there is a linesman with a mind of his own ( a couple of times at the Romford - Manor game on Saturday) he was overruled (wrongly) by the referee.

Quite frankly and under the circumstances I don't blame them from just going with the flow and picking up their money at the end of the match.

It would be nice if referees were instructed to take more notice of their linsemen but I can't see that happening cos most of the refs I've seen this season seem to want to be the star of the game and not be heard but not seen.

I think we are all getting a bit sanctimonious about the issue of abusing referee's.

I've watched NL football for 20 years, and saw nothing different about the crowd behaviour on saturday, than i've seen in hundreds of other games throughout the years

The main difference is that the ref had to walk through the main body of fans to get to the changing room at half-time(as is Ilfords lay-out),instead of through the main stand.....So the close proximity of angry fans, combined with the refs cheesy grin as he went passed, did cause some comments to be shouted out.

And all this rubbish about club's being reported for abusive language.....if that was the case, fruitbat would have had us up before the beak on many occasions, not to mention Cheshunt fc.....Lets not get carried away.....the referee wasn't threated physically or verbally,he was just called a w*nker by a few people....a phrase that Abbeynut called the Town fans yesterday.

Regarding, having to except incapable officials because there is a shortage and know-one else will do it,is unacceptable ......Change the recruiting procedure, increase the rewards and money for good refs.

Finally....WE think the refs are being unfair to ETFC,the other teams in the ESL think we are a bunch of whiners....SO WHAT,lets just get the hell out of this league....then neither party will have to worry about the other again.

The ESL have been good to ETFC,and ETFC have been good for the ESL.....but its time we both moved on.

That was exactly my point.

Regards the officials having to walk through the 'tunnel' to the changing facilities. This happens at our ground and most others in this league.

A subject which certainly get's people talking.

I wonder how Paul Durkin feels this morning after 'missing a penalty' at Old Trafford. Maybe we should have him at a game?

Anybody out there want to give up their services to walk off the pitch with the officials and act as a steward at one of our games? I can tell you that it is interesting!

1. Not everyone wants a merger.

2. Making our own history thank you.

3. I am not convinced Las has gone which refers me back to 1

The clubs in the esl only have to agree to the extra costs and they could recruit a better quality of official but i think the current situation suits some clubs more than others so nothing will change. Also if the official is of a better quality he will be at a higher level, after all someone once said something along the line of"everybody gets promoted to their own level of incompetence"

What planet are you on? Are you looking for the missing Beagle Probe? Every 50/50 went in Ilford's favour and the referee gave no protection whatsoever to the Town players. On several occaisons Ilford players went through the back of Town players or were very late yet he didn't even speak to the players concerned let alone book them. He also halted play far too often where advantage should have been played. The referee got the reception he deserved at half time. He had a truly awful first half and our complaints against referees in this league are justified as the standard is appalling.

listen to this, you lot are such a bunch of hard done by w*nkers at times. Look at us ETFC we have supporters so we have a divine right to slag everything and everyone else off in the league from officials, Clubs and Organisers...so sad. Truth is reality you all jumped ship and you know it. Now Laz is gone you want a merger so you can try and knick the history back......so so sad at times..it makes us cringe to read your posts, and I dont just mean the mid table boys......dear dear me

Abbeynut you are just like your name you nut; the referee on Saturday was biased in the first half; read above for the reasons. In the second half he was reasonable and different; he gave two penalties which I disageed with both. I even suspect he gave the second penalty to us due to the comments at half time. His actions up to the abuse changed after. Maybe this changed him.

The game was a case of your players not getting the result you wanted not the official costing you the game. You complain about the referee giving Ilford every 50/50 decision, that is b@ll@cks. What about when Bradley Brotherton stamped on Lee Double in the first half. If that was against your team you would be going mad, but the difference is most other teams see it as a decision that hasn't gone there way and get on with it. Some of you turn it into an event bigger than the game. Referees and consistency is being debated at the highest level not just in the ESL.

Getting out of the ESL is proving to be easier said than done. It's not like your first season when you and Leyton were head 'n' shoulders above the rest. You have regressed big time and are just a better than average ESL team who believe you are better than what you are.

I knew once the game ended that an ETFC fan would post on here

- ETFC Should have won

- The penalty against never was

- The penalty for was a cert

- The referee gave every decision against ETFC

The incident involving Brotherton/Double went as follows: players clash ,Double end up on floor with Brotherton standing next to him,Doulble flicks his legs about whilst gobbing off,Brotherton dosn't like it and takes a step towards him,Double feels he's been stepped on,jumps up and goes nose to nose with Brotherton, heads (almost clashing) .All the time Doulble is behaving aggressively,it is the Enfield man trying to calm the situation down.....you could see by Brothertons manner, that if he did tread on him,it wasn't intentional.

Getting out of the ESL is proving to be easier said than done. I given you my theory on that. It's not like your first season when you and Leyton were head 'n' shoulders above the rest. Second in our first season, champions last year, and right up challenging this year.....what more do you want ,jam on it !!

I knew once the game ended that an ETFC fan would post on here

- ETFC Should have won No ,our performance deserved nothing more than a draw
- The penalty against never was No more or less than ours
- The penalty for was a cert
- The referee gave every decision against ETFC in the first 80 minutes of the game....as good as.
