Gutted!!! 2 weeks before wifeys due date, it hits the three criteria of what I didn't want; non league, away and over an hours travel. Unless I can coax the little guy out a bit early it's one I will be missing!!!

Lightweight. 2 weeks !!! That's ages, no chance of an early bath there. You will be fine. My missus was told she was ready to leave hospital after lunch on Saturday with our first born .Without any prompting she said she would rather wait till after 5 .!!!

Gutted we are not at home. But.....

it's the same dynamic as the Poole game except we are away.

It's a long journey but better than playing a familiar team.

No banana skin as they will be favourites but not so much that we are massive underdogs.

A draw would still get us a massive replay gate .

It's an FA CUP proper away day. Don't dare miss it ! If you were not at Merthyr this might be the next best thing .

As the club has made £30,000 from the cup and Neil and Jon have refused to accept a larger budget, wouldn’t it be a great idea to boost the travelling army with some free or heavily subsidised coach travel? ?

To be fair I think I'd free or cheap coach travel was mentioned in the observer if might get a fair few fans up there.

Listening to the interview by Bakes I think I agree that this so called un-glamorous tie has perversely done us a favour.

The bottom line is that we cannot afford to have any distractions from our main priority which is the league and by not drawing a league side our players can put this game to the back of their minds and concentrate on what is three massive league games coming up.

RR Nothing wrong with a positive spin on things If anything I've said isn't correct do let me know.

Irishadrian, there is nothing wrong with being positive but, correct me if I'm wrong, by saying because Gainsborough are near the bottom of their division we can start dreaming about our next opponents is IMO a bit condescending and could possibly give G'borough that added incentive if read by someone from their club.

As previously stated, looking at their results, especially of late, Gainsborough do not look as bad as their league position suggests.

RR All a matter of opinions really That's what makes the forum interesting We are second in our league whilst they are 21 st in theirs. So effectively two places separate us I believe a team that can go to Redditch and bang in four or go to Merthyr and perform a 5 goal miracle can win this game Unlike most teams we are just as good away from home this season I don't think we are underdogs We will play them as equals and I hope we prevail

I think most fans have gone through the same thing... Initial disappointment followed by actually looking at their league position and realising this is potentially a great draw for progress to round 2 or at least taking it back to Arbour Park. Not going to be easy certainly but it is only half an hour further away than Merthyr. Time to focus on other things in the meantime but it's not as bad as first thought.

Neil Baker is 100% right. Get on with the important league stuff in the meantime.

As older Slough fans know the 2nd round is a bit of a graveyard for us, but if Neil & Jon's first experience as managing in the 3rd round is also the clubs first experience there then we will all be happy!

TBH I don't really take any notice of league positions when it comes to the FA Cup as Harrogate Town discovered to their cost.

For me this game is harder than their league positon gives credit for......They will be an incredibly tough opponent but we have a quality side so should be a good game to watch

If we were to get a replay that also puts us in the Replay prize pot which we benefitted from last time round I believe, wasn't it Arsenal v United replay in 3rd round and we gained from it......
