v Tiverton Town

Other than the two very good goals it was probably the most boring game this season. At times it felt like watching the England national team.

3 points though which is all that really matters and on to a tough game against Kettering on Saturday.

p.s. agree with Radders about the squabbling at the free kick late on. I am sure it is something which the managers will get on top of straight away and needs to be sorted out quickly.

Already sorted, was just a bit heated, and it happens... you have lots of different characters in football, and sometimes they clash, they both got a dressing down, and it won't happen again.

3 points which is vital, and keeps us ticking along nicely.

You're not moaning are you,SRJ !

I thought first half we played some decent stuff against a Tiverton team who looked as though they had come for a draw. Their game plan of defending in numbers went out the window because of Dobbo's brilliance with the first goal. A second goal was always going to come and so when the half time whistle went, I was well pleased with the scoreline.

That was until the dire second half as Slough's performance was like the first round draw, an anti climax !

I wish I had gone home after 45 minutes.

Slough were never troubled by Tiverton and the win looked like a formality but why didn't we make changes in our attackers to push on a bit and to raise the tempo/creative bar, in an effort to try and score a few extra goals, as goal difference at the end of season can be important and this momentum would be good for going into the Kettering game on a high.

It was galling that Tiverton had an outfield player in goal for the entire second half and yet he hardly had a shot to save.

Dobbo and Webby I thought were our best players on the night, and Nis and Josh did well although defensively they were hardly put under pressure.

Another win but one that pissed me off in the end, which it wouldn't have done if we had been ruthless.

After the excitement of the cup, there was always the danger tonight would be a bit flat. So it proved but we still had a comfortable win. In previous seasons we often screwed up these games. Couple of changes to help rest players worked OK . Good decision to take off Webb when he was on a booking but Surprised Manny was starting and amazed he and Flood did a full shift.

We were very good and creative in the first half and Tivvy seemed to be able to match our speed and tempo, that is until Dobbo ran from the half way line for his scorcher. 2nd goal was inevitable, and half time I was happy.

Second half although not as fluent we did hit the bar and a couple of other near misses so the scoreline could easily have been 4-0.

Save our best for Saturday, and if anything goes wrong up there we can always do our bounce back thing against a hapless Gosport next Tuesday.

Game won in first half. Not sure if we were told just to shut the game down 2nd half or not but it became a very dull affair. Shame we didn't test their defender in goal as I feel today should have been a nice gd boost. Have to agree with mark about the freekick- made us look very "Sunday league

But a professional 3 points!!

The form we’re in and with the quality of squad we have we should be going to Kettering with only a win in mind. Gosport should be a formality so 2 wins could well take us top going into the Gainsborough match, what better prep could you have?

Glenn, no games a formality!

I wonder if most would take a draw on Saturday now?

Oh come on I think we can say that with Gosport! Although I may go into hiding we don’t beat them... I’ll be happy with a draw as a bare minimum but we can beat them for sure.

Quite right Gosport are this seasons whipping boys like Cinderford were and we should stuff them home and away like we did to them last year ...er oops!
