FA Cup 1st Round Proper

Sir Rebel1965

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to Bakes and Unders for reaching the 1st Round Proper for the first time as managers. It is a worthy reward for all of their hard work and time which they put in to the Slough Town cause.

It would be interesting to know their preferred choice of team in the draw tomorrow, whether they would like home or away, league or non-league.

Personally, an away draw against a team no more than an hour and a half away would be good, so as others have mentioned Wycombe, Portsmouth, Charlton, Oxford, Swindon, MK Don s would be a positive draw. Away to Hartlepool or Carlisle would be not so good.

Looking forward to 7.00pm tomorrow evening.

Draw on Monday. here are the numbers.

78 MARGATE OR LEATHERHEAD

Invicta fan here in peace (again).

Margit - for that is how they are known in SE Kent - got knocked out by Leatherhead  :D  The only silver lining on a cloudy day for us (even D*v£r didn't get knocked out).

Good luck in the next round.

A fantastic achievement for us to make the 1st round proper

For me I think you have to be looking at a home tie, get new crowds into Arbour Park and hopefully they will come back. I think we could be considered a tv game against Wycombe or one of the big boys too.........

At home to Maidenhead is a dream for live TV but I doubt they know it....

The 'SL Classico' can be played on for cameras

The link with Nisbet still working for Maidenehad

    The community stadium etc etc

A big away tie would also be favourable, Pompey/Charloton/Blackburn

Another thought is around the tie itself and us not being an attraction for FL clubs. Let's take Hereford, if we drew them away in a big game it would get 4000+, how many FL sides would have that against us? looking at the avg att i would estimate less than half.......

I think the only way we'd get tv coverage is to draw Wigan or Portsmouth at home, given both have won the cup in the last 10 years.

If Hereford get a home tie against any league team, expect them to be on TV as there is obviously history there and a story to be told.
